Preparing for a spray tan at The Space is a great way to achieve a beautiful, natural-looking tan without the harmful effects of UV exposure. To ensure the best possible outcome, follow these detailed steps to prepare for your spray tan session:
1. Schedule: Contact us to schedule your spray tan appointment. A spray tan should be scheduled 2-3 days before an event, as this is when the color is at its optimal and best.
2. Exfoliate: Prior to your appointment, it’s crucial to exfoliate your entire body. Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt to remove any dead skin cells, oils, or residue that may hinder the spray tan’s absorption and result in an uneven application. Pay extra attention to rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
3. Shave or wax: If you need to remove any body hair, do so at least 24 hours before your appointment. Shaving or waxing immediately before a spray tan can lead to skin irritation and uneven color.
4. Avoid moisturizers: On the day of your spray tan, avoid using any moisturizers, oils, lotions, deodorant or perfumes. These products can create a barrier on your skin, preventing the tanning solution from fully developing.

9. Post-tan care: After your spray tan, it's essential to follow vour technician's post-tan care instructions. This typically involves avoiding water contact, sweating, or physical activities for a specific period, usually 6-8 hours. During this time, the tanning solution will continue to develop, giving you the desired color.
