I saw a post on IG that fueled me to want to speak on it…

A client was upset that the braided took a sec to go in the bathroom and change and clean herself up because her 🩸 unexpectedly came on early. And the lady paused a few times when she had cramps.

Too often clients forget that we are HUMAN and we go through things that every other woman does WHILE providing a service.

Although I try my best not to (because I know how mine is) sometimes I can’t help but book on days when I have my menstrual. So yea that means through the cramps, bloating, nausea, headaches, discomfort, etc I still stand on my feet for 6+ hours. Sometimes I may have to take a sec to drink water, take some meds, or use the rest room, but none of that takes away that much time from a service to the point that a client should really complain.

I’ve saw women who still braid during their pregnancy and most times it’s not because they want to, it’s because they HAVE TO! There are some things that, like the weather, we can’t predict, but a little consideration and understanding can go along way.

Most times I work through it no matter how bad it can get, but our bodies are different, some women cannot function at all on day 1 & 2 and some the whole time.

So I ask that any future clients, please understand that I want to get done just as fast as you want to be done, but if it’s that time I’m only human!

Yall please remember that when you’re sitting in someone’s chair, think about how you feel when it’s your time of the month! Or how you felt when you were pregnant!

So to the braiders out there pick your head up love, it happened to best of us! You can only move as fast as the cycle will allow you too!

I’m thankful for my clients because I’ve had some bring me tea, some REQUEST that I take a quick break, some have brought me food or went to the store to grab me water or some pain meds. The girls that get it… get it! And I love and appreciate yall for that!
