You’re tired of sitting in the salon month after month, just trying to cover your grays.
Let’s talk options. Personally, I don’t believe that doing an all-over highlight to blend gray hair is always the best route—it can sometimes do more harm than good in the long run. But in the right situation, it can absolutely serve a purpose.
In this case, my sweet guest had years of dark color and was ready to start transitioning her hair to better embrace her natural grays. She’s heaviest around the face, so we kicked things off with a heavy highlight to break up that built-up color and start the blending process.
We’ve created a 6-month plan with appointments spaced out every 10–12 weeks, gradually working in lowlights and dimension to create a softer grow-out and seamless transition. This strategy won’t work for everyone, but it was perfect for her needs and lifestyle.
