Tomorrow is WEDDING DAY for Madison + Shea 🤍

And this one feels extra special to me. I’ve known Maddi for TEN years. I took her senior photos, she’s modeled for so many of my creative shoots over the years, I photographed these insanely classy engagement photos… and tomorrow I get to photograph her WEDDING. 🥹

One of the coolest parts of doing this for as long as I have is getting to watch people grow up through my camera. Seniors become brides. Couples become families. Families come back with new babies. Getting trusted with one milestone is an honor, but getting trusted with them over and over through different seasons of life means more to me than I can put into words.

There’s always a little extra pressure when a friend trusts you to photograph their family. 🥹 Especially when you know firsthand just how amazing the humans in front of your camera are, you want to do them justice.

The Goo family 🤍 John + Caryn are truly salt-of-the-earth people, and they’ve raised the sweetest, most fun kids with such big hearts. Maddie, Lincoln, Emmy, and of course the furry family member, Goose 🐶

This whole crew is just GOOD people, and getting to capture them together was such a treat.

My job isn’t just to take a good photo. It’s to make you comfortable enough that the good photos happen naturally.

And judging by that first photo… I think we got there. 🤌🏼

Owen made this session WAY too easy. We kept it relaxed, incorporated baseball, wandered around finding cool spots, and somewhere in between got a whole gallery that actually feels like him without his mom having to say “smile for real” 100 times.

Hi, I’m Erin. 😂

And since the baby pictured here is officially on the outside now (!!), I’ve recently been promoted to mom of THREE. I birthed two little boys and have a teenager bonus daughter who I love like my own, even if we occasionally fight like sisters.

I’ve been a full time pro photographer for over 13 years. Seniors and weddings are my bread and butter, but I still love lifestyle families, couples, & maternity, plus headshots and branding.

Outside of photography, I have a hard time picking a personality.

I love romantasy books, thrifting, farmers markets and weightlifting. I’ve hiked 20 National Parks, but will happily follow that up with Olive Garden. Authentic Italian? No. Will I defend the soup, salad and breadsticks? Absolutely.

I paint, create murals and dabble in hair and makeup over at Erin Kay Bilyeu (Feldmeyer) / Artist. I’m also technically an art school dropout who once had an entirely different trajectory planned for my life. We’ll save that lore for another day.

Catch me making obscure The Office references on the regular.

My personal style is eccentric art teacher meets eclectic auntie with a dash of Adam Sandler.

Personality wise, I’ve decided I’m Type C. Extremely particular about some things, suspiciously relaxed about others and scatterbrained until there’s a deadline.

Procrastination hates to see me coming.

Give me three weeks? Dangerous. Give me three hours? Watch me cook.

It’s probably why I thrive on wedding days. Chaos somehow turns me into a highly functioning professional. 😂

And while I lean eclectic, my photography intentionally doesn’t.

True color. Authentic. Timeless.

I want skin to look like skin, colors to look the way you chose them and your photos to still feel like you decades from now.
