I’m raging for every woman who’s been told her symptoms are “normal.”

Women’s health is not just about one organ or one diagnosis. It’s digestive health. Nervous system regulation. Endocrine balance. Pelvic health. Trauma. Movement. Nutrition. Community. The body is an ecosystem, not a collection of disconnected parts.

And somewhere along the way, we stripped the sacred from healing.

We separated science from awe. The body from the spirit. The clinic from ritual. We forgot that healing is more than suppressing symptoms. It’s remembering our relationship with ourselves.

I believe we can hold rigorous science and deep reverence at the same time. We can study physiology while honoring mystery. We can measure outcomes while remembering that the human body is worthy of respect, not just repair.

This is why I’m making noise, flipping tables, and rocking the damn boat. This is why I built the Vital Axis Method™.

Women’s bodies deserve more than fragmented care.

They deserve to be understood.

And women deserve a framework that cultivates structural integrity, embodied sensation, and sovereignty throughout their healing journey. Offering anything less is no longer acceptable.

On another note, thank you to the incredible Heidi Long for helping me embrace the fullness of my expression.

I told her that I’m comfortable showing the version of me that’s polished, clinical, evidence-informed, composed, and stays within the lines. But there’s another side of me that has always been the heartbeat of my work.

The rebel.

The artist.

The phoenix.

The woman who refuses to accept “good enough” when it comes to women’s health.

This is her.

Perhaps you're seeing her fully for the first time.

And thank you to my sister @sacredjourneyacu for helping me stay embodied when the camera came out. Who wouldn't let me be shy or shrink myself. 🙏🏻♾️🫂 07/24/2026

My buddy Cub and I are dealing with an upper respiratory illness (not CVD19), so we made some delicious herbal-honey cough syrup this morning. 🤧The recipe was adopted from @wellnessmama, but rather than using marshmallow (don't have any), we used dried stinging nettle. We also added some of our delicious Rosehip Vinegar featured in yesterday's Wildcraft Wednesday.

🍯 Local Honey- immune supportive benefitantioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, yummy
🌼 Chamomile- soothing to mucus membranes, relaxing to nerves, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory
🍂 Cinnamon- warming, nice flavor, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory
🔥 Ginger- anti-inflammatory, warming, anti-viral, antioxidant, pain relief
🌱 Stinging Nettle- immune support, diuretic, detoxifying, nutritive
🍋 Lemon juice- vitamin c, antibacterial, flavor
🌹 Rosehip Vinegar- vitamin C, helps elimination, probiotics

Honey is a well-evidenced alternative to over-the-counter cough remedies. As our sweet friend demonstrates, it's easy to make a delicious immune-supporting cough syrup at home!

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) was recently renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) to better reflect the systemic interconnectedness of the condition.

Ending the use of the inaccurate verbiage of polycystic ovarian syndrome marks a significant new chapter in the evolution of a very neglected condition. Language matters because it inevitably shapes the way that conditions are understood, diagnosed, researched, and treated.

It reflects the understanding that PMOS isn’t just about the ovaries. Like many conditions, it clearly involves a web of interactions. Our hormones, nervous system, metabolism, emotions, gut, stress, trauma, cycles and environment do not function separately.

This also reflects the Chinese medicine understanding of PMOS and health in general - healing happens when we stop isolating symptoms and start understanding the body as an interconnected system.

Hopefully this change represents a powerful step towards better care and outcomes for people with this condition.

Chinese medicine is an ancient functional medicine system that excels at seeing how all the bodily systems and components are tied together, making it a beautifully supportive and effective system for anyone with PMOS. Any person with a PMOS diagnosis (or the possibility of it) is going to have one single underlying pattern of imbalance which explains every single manifestation of the condition for that individual. When we focus on treating that underlying pattern of imbalance, and integrate this foundation with modern, conventional biomedical knowledge and treatment, healing and balance can be achieved more efficiently!

If you have a PMOS diagnosis or suspect it, we welcome you to reach out to schedule an initial appointment or a free 15 minute phone consult to learn more about how we can help!
