She’s growing out her pixie, but before she came to us, her hair had gone through a color-over process. So we’re taking a different approach: less rushing, more restoration, protection, and length retention.

We’ve also identified an area through the center that’s experiencing more breakage, so we’re being intentional about reducing friction and protecting that section while she grows.

Because the goal isn’t just to have “long hair.”
The goal is to have healthy hair that can actually KEEP the length.

We’re taking our time with this one—and baby, the growth is already giving. 👀✨

🍂 FALL IS SILK PRESS SEASON! 🍂

If you want your silk press to last longer and your natural hair to stay healthy, here are a few things to know:

✨ 1. Moisture matters BEFORE the press. Deep conditioning and properly moisturizing the hair helps maintain elasticity and prevents your hair from becoming overly dry after heat styling.

✨ 2. Steam treatments can help your hair retain moisture.
Regular professional steam treatments can help deliver hydration to the hair shaft. Moisture retention is especially important when you’re wearing your hair straight.

✨ 3. Be consistent with your silk presses. Fall is a great time to establish a healthy silk press routine. Consistency with professional cleansing, conditioning, heat protection and proper styling can help you learn how your natural hair responds to being worn straight.

✨ 4. Trim your ends! ✂️ Split, damaged ends don’t magically become healthy because your hair is pressed. Regular trims help your ends look smoother and prevent splits from traveling farther up the strand.

✨ 5. Your blow dry matters. A smooth, properly dried foundation means less work with the flat iron. The goal isn’t to keep adding heat it’s to create the smoothest result with the least necessary manipulation.

✨ 6. Don’t confuse oil with moisture. Oil can help reduce friction and seal the hair, but it doesn’t replace water-based hydration. Your stylist should determine what your hair actually needs instead of simply loading it with oil.

✨ 7. Protect your press from humidity AND unnecessary moisture.Even in fall, steam from showers, rain and excessive sweating can cause natural hair to revert. Your silk press lasts best when you’re intentional about keeping it dry.

✨ 8. Give your hair a break when it needs one. A silk press should be part of a healthy hair routine not a battle against your natural texture. If your hair is showing signs of excessive dryness, breakage or heat damage, it’s time to reassess your routine.
