Trying to conceive? Start with the basics.

Many couples assume pregnancy will happen immediately, but conception often takes time—even when both partners are healthy.

While there is no guaranteed way to become pregnant quickly, certain evidence-based habits can help optimize your chances of conceiving naturally.

Here are 6 essential tips:

🌱 1. Know your fertile window
Pregnancy is only possible during a few days of each menstrual cycle. Understanding when you’re most fertile can make a significant difference.

🥚 2. Track ovulation
Use methods such as ovulation predictor kits, basal body temperature, or cervical mucus monitoring to identify when ovulation is likely to occur.

❤️ 3. Have regular in*******se
Having s*x every 2–3 days throughout the menstrual cycle—or more frequently during the fertile window—helps maximize the chances of s***m meeting the egg.

🥗 4. Eat a fertility-friendly diet
A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, lean proteins, and key micronutrients supports overall reproductive health.

⚖️ 5. Maintain a healthy weight
Both being underweight and overweight can affect ovulation and fertility. Maintaining a healthy weight supports hormonal balance and reproductive function.

💊 6. Take folic acid
If you’re planning to conceive, start taking 400 micrograms of folic acid daily before pregnancy. It supports early fetal development and helps reduce the risk of neural tube defects.

Fertility isn’t just about getting pregnant—it’s about creating the healthiest possible environment before conception.

If you’ve been trying to conceive for 12 months (or 6 months if you’re 35 or older) without success, consider speaking with a healthcare professional for further evaluation.

Trying to conceive (TTC) is often described as an exciting journey. But for many people, it’s also one of the most emotionally complex experiences they’ll ever face.

Every month can bring hope, uncertainty, endless questions, and sometimes disappointment.

One of the biggest misconceptions about fertility is that pregnancy happens immediately once you start trying. In reality, even for healthy couples, conception can take time.

A few reminders for anyone on their TTC journey:

🌿 Fertility is influenced by many factors—not just age, but also ovulation, s***m health, reproductive conditions, overall health, and lifestyle.

🌿 Tracking your menstrual cycle and understanding when you ovulate can improve your chances of conceiving.

🌿 Taking care of your health before pregnancy matters. Nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, and managing chronic health conditions all play important roles.

🌿 If you’ve been trying to conceive for a while without success, seeking medical advice isn’t a sign of failure—it’s a proactive step toward understanding your reproductive health.

Most importantly, remember that behind every fertility statistic is a person or family hoping for good news.

Let’s continue creating spaces where fertility conversations are met with evidence, empathy, and support rather than myths, stigma, or judgment.

If you’re involved in reproductive health, what do you think is the biggest misconception people have about fertility?

July is TTC Month. 🤍

For many couples, July isn’t just another month on the calendar.

It’s another opportunity.
Another ovulation window.
Another pregnancy test.
Another mix of hope, anxiety, prayers, and waiting.

If you’re trying to conceive this month, I want to remind you of a few things:

✨ You are not behind.
✨ Your worth is not determined by two pink lines.
✨ Every fertility journey is unique.

As a Women’s Health Educator, I’ve learned that many couples enter the TTC journey without fully understanding ovulation, fertility timing, or when it’s appropriate to seek medical advice. Knowledge can make a meaningful difference.

This July, my goal is to continue helping women and couples:
• Understand their menstrual cycles and ovulation.
• Learn how hormones influence fertility.
• Separate fertility myths from evidence-based information.
• Find trusted fertility specialists and clinics when additional support is needed.

Whether this is your first month trying or you’ve been on this journey for years, I hope this month brings you clarity, strength, and hope.

If you’re on your TTC journey, know that you’re not walking it alone. ❤️
