💜 A Little Movement. A Meaningful Routine.
Finding time for yourself shouldn’t feel like another complicated task on your to-do list.

With small classes, personal attention, and a more consistent weekly schedule, finding your rhythm can feel a little easier.
Because building a movement practice isn’t about doing everything.

Sometimes, small is exactly what you need.
Space to move.
Space to learn.
Space to be seen.
At Gallery Barre, classes are intentionally small—giving me the opportunity to notice the details, offer guidance, and meet you where you are that day.
No crowded room. No need to keep up with anyone else.
Just thoughtful movement in a space where you can focus on you.
Curious? Your first three 30-minute sessions are $30.
By appointment only.

Fall has a way of bringing routines back.
School schedules.
Busier calendars.
Earlier evenings.
That familiar feeling that maybe it’s time to get ourselves “back on track.”
But caring for yourself doesn’t have to begin with a big plan.
It might begin with 30 minutes of movement.
A little more stretching.
A deeper breath.
Getting stronger.
Or simply making space in the week that belongs to you.
You don’t have to be more flexible first.
Or stronger.
Or more coordinated.
You don’t have to wait until life settles down.
Begin where you are.
We’ll take it from there. 🤍

Alyssa working with the Pilates circle during class last week — beautiful length, alignment, and control. 🤍
One of the things I love about Pilates is how a simple prop can completely change what we notice:
where we’re holding tension, where we’re compensating, and where a little more connection can make the movement feel entirely different.
Small movements. Lots of information.
That’s the kind of work I love teaching.

Saturday mornings at Gallery Barre. 💜
One thing I love about working with people in a small studio is that movement doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.
These two come together on Saturday mornings, but each gets to listen to their own body, work at their own level, and make the movement their own.
Same space.
Same morning.
Two different bodies.
Two different experiences.
Because movement isn’t about keeping up with the person beside you.
It’s about meeting yourself where you are. 💛

📖 Introducing: From My Movement Notebook
Long before Pinterest, Instagram, or YouTube tutorials, I kept a movement notebook.
Whenever I came across a stretch, exercise, or movement that made me stop and think, "This is worth remembering," I clipped it from a magazine and added it to this binder.
Over the years, it traveled with me through dance, teaching, Pilates, yoga, and now Gallery Barre.
Some of the pages are well worn.
Some have yellowed with time.
Many are movements I still practice and teach today.
I thought it would be fun to occasionally share a page from my movement notebook with you.
Not because they're the newest trends...
But because they've stood the test of time.
I hope they inspire you to move a little more, breathe a little deeper, and discover a few new favorites of your own.
Welcome to From My Movement Notebook. 💜

Simple Steps👣
One of the biggest misconceptions about movement is that it has to be long or intense to make a difference.
It doesn’t.
A few minutes of stretching.
A short walk.
A few deep breaths.
One class each week.
Small, consistent steps often create the biggest changes over time.
Don’t underestimate what one simple step can become.
💜 Move. Breathe. Nourish. Restore.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July!🇺🇸
I hope your day is filled with family, friends, laughter, and a few quiet moments in between all the celebrations.
Whether you’re watching fireworks, enjoying a backyard barbecue, traveling, or simply relaxing at home, don’t forget to take a few minutes to move your body, stretch, and appreciate all that it allows you to do.
Wishing you a safe, joyful, and healthy Independence Day.
Happy Fourth! ❤️🤍💙

🌱 Nourish Notes
Small Weights. Big Benefits.
It’s one of the questions I hear most often:
“Why do we only use 1-, 2-, and 3-pound weights?”
Because heavier isn’t always better.
In Barre and Pilates, lighter weights encourage control over momentum. Instead of relying on large muscle groups to power through a movement, your body recruits the smaller stabilizing muscles that support your joints, improve posture, and build muscular endurance.
When movements are performed slowly and with intention, those small weights can become surprisingly challenging.
The focus isn’t on how much you can lift.
It’s on how well you move.
Sometimes your own body weight provides all the resistance you need.
At Gallery Barre, we’re not training to move heavier weights.
We’re training to move our bodies with greater strength, stability, and confidence—in class and in everyday life.
💜 It’s not about lifting more. It’s about moving better.

Live. Learn. Teach.
What is Barre?
One of the questions I hear most often is, “What exactly is barre?”
Barre is a low-impact workout inspired by ballet, Pilates, and functional movement. Don’t worry—you don’t need any dance experience!
Using the barre for support, we focus on posture, balance, core strength, flexibility, and muscular endurance through small, controlled movements.
What I love most about barre is that it meets you where you are. Whether you’re brand new to exercise or looking for a challenging workout, movements can be modified to fit your body and your goals.
At Gallery Barre, barre isn’t about becoming a dancer.
It’s about moving better, feeling stronger, and building confidence in your body.
