I LOST A CLIENT OVER A HOT SHOWER. 😂🚿

Yes. Seriously.

I once told a client to take a shower before his laser appointment because I wanted him to avoid a hot shower afterward.

He thought I was commenting on his hygiene. 😳
I definitely could have explained that better.

So here’s what I SHOULD have said:

🔥 HEAT. NOT HYGIENE.

After laser hair removal, the skin may temporarily feel warm, look red, or develop small bumps around the follicles.

Adding a very hot shower while the skin is still reactive may increase temporary redness, itching, burning or irritation.

And yes… I tested this on myself. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I did a tiny laser touch-up on my legs and then jumped into a hot shower before going to my other job.

Laser Queen by day. Singer by night. 👑🎤
And yes, if you need a singer… call me. 😂

My skin immediately reminded me:

“Oxana… don’t YOU give laser aftercare instructions for a living?”

Point taken. 😂

So let me say it correctly:

Water isn’t the enemy. Extra heat is.

If you need to shower after laser, keep it cool to lukewarm, be gentle, and don’t scrub freshly treated skin.

AFTERCARE MATTERS TOO.

So yes… I lost one client.
But I got a much better explanation. 😂

👑 I DON’T FOLLOW A MACHINE. I FOLLOW THE HAIR.
And I respect the skin.

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME.

SHAVING MAKES IT WORSE? 👑

Welcome to CASE 004.

This is a situation I see often with men:
dark, coarse hair on the front of the neck + constant shaving + recurring razor bumps and irritation.

So what would I choose — laser or electrolysis?

In this case, I would usually start with LASER.

Why?

Because I’m looking at the hair first.

Dark, coarse, pigmented hair + lighter skin = a strong laser target.

Instead of repeatedly shaving the same area and dealing with irritation again and again, laser hair removal can significantly reduce the amount of hair growing on the neck — and reduce one of the factors contributing to shaving-related bumps and ingrown hairs.

And there’s another detail that matters to me:

THE LINE.

I don’t necessarily want to remove his beard.

We can keep the facial hair and create a clean, carefully planned neckline, while treating the unwanted hair below it.

But this is a process — not one appointment.

A typical starting course may involve around 6 treatments, often approximately 4–6 weeks apart, followed by reassessment. Some clients need additional sessions or future maintenance depending on their individual hair growth and response.

And would I automatically use laser for every man with neck hair?

No.

Different hair. Different skin. Different history. Different strategy.

Sometimes I choose laser.
Sometimes electrolysis.
Sometimes both.

I DON’T FOLLOW A MACHINE.
I FOLLOW THE HAIR. 👑

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME.

¿PELO EN LA BARBILLA? 👀

80% DARK HAIR. 20% GRAY HAIR. SAME AREA. TWO TECHNOLOGIES. 👑

Welcome to CASE 003.

This is something I often see with male back hair removal: most of the hair is dark and pigmented, but gray and white hairs are mixed throughout the same area.

So should every hair be treated with the same technology?

No.

Dark, coarse, pigmented hair can be an excellent target for laser hair removal. On a large area like the back, laser allows me to efficiently target a significant amount of suitable hair and achieve permanent hair reduction.

But gray and white hair is different.

Laser needs pigment in the hair to effectively target it. When that pigment is missing, I need a different technology:

ELECTROLYSIS.

My strategy is to use laser for the appropriate pigmented hair, then reassess what remains. When the skin is ready and the remaining gray or white hairs are visible, electrolysis allows me to treat those hairs individually.

DARK HAIR → LASER
GRAY / WHITE HAIR → ELECTROLYSIS

Two different types of hair.
Two technologies.
One strategy.

For a large mixed-hair area, choosing the right technology for the right hair can make the treatment journey much more practical in terms of time and cost.

I don’t choose between laser hair removal and electrolysis first.

I LOOK AT THE HAIR FIRST.

👑 I DON’T FOLLOW A MACHINE. I FOLLOW THE HAIR.

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME.

“I ONLY PLUCK 2 HAIRS A DAY…” 👀
But what happens when you stop plucking?

Welcome to CASE 002 👑

My client came to me with coarse chin hair — approximately 90% gray. She had been tweezing just a few hairs at a time, which made it difficult to see the true pattern of hair growth and also contributed to the frustration of ingrown hairs.

We stopped chasing individual hairs with tweezers and started electrolysis.

✨ Session 1 — treated the visible hairs.
✨ About a week later — treated newly visible hairs.
✨ By visit 3 — look at her chin. Almost clean.

Are we finished? No. Hair becomes visible at different times, so facial electrolysis is a process that requires patience and consistency.

And because gray and white hair cannot be effectively targeted by laser, electrolysis is the right technology for permanent hair removal of these hairs.

12 LASER SESSIONS. WHAT’S NEXT? 👑

Welcome to CASE 001 — a real hair-removal journey that I’ll be documenting over time.

My client came to me approximately one year after completing a course of 12 laser hair removal sessions at another clinic.

What remains today is a mixture of different types of hair — and that means I don’t automatically choose one treatment for everything.

For now, my priority is very specific: the non-pigmented hairs that are no longer an effective target for laser.

This is where electrolysis becomes extremely valuable.

This particular area is technically challenging. The hairs grow in different directions, access is limited, and every follicle must be treated individually and precisely.

That’s why her first clearance is still in progress.

I don’t rush to clear a difficult area just to say that I finished it. I treat what I can safely and precisely complete, then give the skin time to recover before continuing.

And we can already see an important difference: in the areas that have been treated, there is a significant visible reduction in the non-pigmented hair.

The remaining hairs you see in other areas are not necessarily treatment failures — some of those areas simply haven’t been completed yet.

Once we complete the first clearance and see what remains, I’ll reassess the remaining pigmented hairs and decide what makes the most sense next.

Laser?
Electrolysis?
A combination?

I don’t decide that in advance. I let the hair tell me.

👑 I DON’T FOLLOW A MACHINE. I FOLLOW THE HAIR.

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME.

¿LÁSER O ELECTRÓLISIS? 🤔

DOES EVERY LASER JOURNEY NEED TO END WITH ELECTROLYSIS?
NO. 👑

Laser hair removal and electrolysis are not competing technologies — and there is no rule that every laser client eventually needs both.

When the hair is a strong laser target and the client is an appropriate candidate, my goal is to achieve the best possible permanent hair reduction with laser.

I work with Candela GentleMax Pro, using Alexandrite 755 nm or Nd:YAG 1064 nm depending on the skin, hair and treatment strategy.

So when do I consider electrolysis?

When I see individual hairs that are no longer good laser targets — for example, scattered resistant hairs, finer remaining hairs, or white and gray hairs that laser cannot effectively target.

That decision comes from reassessment — not from following a predetermined sequence.

I don’t follow a machine.
I follow the hair. 👑

Because the goal isn’t to move every client from one technology to another.

The goal is to know which technology makes sense for the hair that is actually in front of me.

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME.

NOT JUST LASER.
THE RIGHT LASER. 👑

Great laser hair removal isn’t simply about having a powerful machine.

It starts with understanding the hair, skin type, treatment area, previous treatments and the goal.

At Laser Queen, I work with Candela GentleMax Pro — Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm — allowing me to choose the appropriate approach for different skin types and hair characteristics.

Because I don’t believe in treating every client — or every hair — exactly the same way.

Sometimes the right choice is laser.
Sometimes it’s electrolysis.
And sometimes the right decision is not to treat a particular hair at all.

YOU DON’T NEED ANOTHER PROCEDURE.
YOU NEED A PLAN. 👑

Laser or electrolysis? The answer depends on your hair.

At Laser Queen, I don’t choose the procedure first. I look at the hair — its color, thickness, density, location, skin type, and treatment history — and then choose the right strategy.

Sometimes it’s laser hair removal.
Sometimes it’s electrolysis.
And sometimes the smartest plan is laser first → electrolysis later to target what remains.

My goal isn’t to sell you more sessions.
My goal is to find the right solution for your hair.

RIGHT HAIR. RIGHT TECHNOLOGY. RIGHT TIME. 👑
