On this day , 35 years ago , Tony Salvatore moved a small mom & pop business into Kuser plaza . He had purchased Golden Scissors from Mike Guadagno just a couple years prior , and quickly outgrew 2 locations before moving into the plaza built on the old Kosco Farm .
What came next was revolutionary. Say what you want, but there was nothing like it in Hamilton, or anywhere else that I knew of , at the time . He created an environment for Men , Women , and children to get their hair cut at affordable prices with or without an appointment. With his vision, Golden Scissors quickly became a household name. We have occupied four different storefronts in this plaza over the last four decades .

Today being the 35th anniversary in this location , I feel it is the right time to announce that we will be moving out of Kuser Plaza on September 1, 2025. We have acquired a nearby salon (which shall remain nameless for now) and the merger of two neighborhood traditions will ensure that we will continue to provide hair care for the entire family for the next three generations.
I’d like to thank everyone for the memories and their support over the years. We look forward to seeing you in our new location. Once again , WE ARE NOT CLOSING. We are growing .

It’s not easy to replace a chair that you’ve been using for 25 years . The crew .beauty.equipment did the nearly impossible. Scott worked tirelessly to find me the perfect chair and to make sure I that was completely satisfied after the sale . For a guy who’s been hunting down barber nostalgia for 35 years, a trip to your showroom was a true pilgrimage. Can’t thank you guys enough! Look at these beauties !!
