Three laundry rules I’ve adopted after three kids... and they’ve saved me so much frustration. 🧺👇

1️⃣ I sort by fabric type, not color.
I know this one surprises people! Instead of separating lights and darks, I separate towels, jeans, athletic wear, baby clothes, delicates, and everyday cottons. Similar fabrics wash and dry more evenly, and I notice way less pilling and wear over time. I learned this from The Page Company years ago and I’ve never gone back to my old ways!

2️⃣ Every stain gets treated before it hits the wash.
The washing machine isn’t magic. 🍓Spaghetti sauce, berries, grass stains... giving them a quick pre-treat has saved so many favorite outfits from becoming “play clothes.”

3️⃣ I skip heavily fragranced detergents.
With three kids (and as a labor & delivery nurse), I’ve become much more mindful of what we’re washing our clothes in. I personally prefer detergents with simpler ingredients and little to no added fragrance, especially for baby clothes and anyone with sensitive skin. Truly Free Home is my absolute fave!

Laundry isn’t exactly glamorous... but anything that helps clothes last longer and saves me from replacing outfits is a win in my book.

Sometimes it’s not that our kids don’t want to brush their teeth... it’s that mornings are chaotic, someone remembers too late, and suddenly you’re already loading the car.

Adding a second toothbrush station downstairs has been such a simple change, but it’s made a huge difference for us.
