If you’ve been following Port City Aesthetics, you probably know me primarily for permanent makeup. 🤍

But after 8 years of working with women, I’m excited to expand the studio to include something that plays a huge role in PMU: skin health.

The health, condition, texture, and overall quality of the skin can affect how PMU heals, ages, and ultimately looks.

I’ve also had countless conversations with clients about dryness, oiliness, dehydration, texture, sensitivity, aging, and feeling overwhelmed by skincare. I understand that struggle because I’ve experienced it myself. Learning how to care for my oily, dehydrated skin and support my skin barrier changed everything for me.

Skincare isn’t about a complicated 10-step routine or chasing every trending product. It’s about understanding your skin, protecting your barrier, and giving it what it actually needs.

That’s why I’m expanding Port City Aesthetics to include professional skincare and targeted skin treatments designed to support healthy skin and complement your PMU.

And just to be clear: permanent makeup isn’t going anywhere. 🤍 It will always be a huge part of Port City Aesthetics. This is simply an expansion of what I’m able to offer you.

I’ve been working behind the scenes, researching professional products and investing in additional training, and I’m so excited to share what’s next.

8 years. 🤍

Eight years ago today, I took my very first permanent makeup class with absolutely no idea where it would lead me.

Since then, this career has grown with me in ways I never could have predicted. My work has changed. My style has changed. My business has changed. Over time, I’ve learned that becoming a better artist isn’t about chasing every new technique or trying to be everything to everyone. It’s about being intentional, trusting my eye, and creating work that feels true to the artist I’ve become.

But these eight years have shaped so much more than my artistry.

I’ve had to learn how to become an entrepreneur while I was becoming an artist. How to trust my own decisions. How to put myself and my work out there even when it felt uncomfortable. How to take risks, make mistakes, change direction, set boundaries, and keep going when I wasn’t completely sure what I was doing.

I’ve built confidence I definitely didn’t have when I started. I’ve learned to trust my instincts, stand behind my work, and accept that growth sometimes means outgrowing things that once felt right. And I think the person who walked into that first class eight years ago would be pretty proud of the woman and business owner I’ve become along the way. 🥹

These are eight of the biggest lessons that have shaped the way I work, the way I create, and the way I take care of the people who trust me with their faces.

I’m incredibly grateful for every client who has sat in my chair, every person who has trusted me enough to come back year after year, and everyone who has supported this little business through every version of itself. And especially to my husband and my parents, who have believed in me, supported me, and helped me build a life around something that started with one permanent makeup class eight years ago. 🤍

Eight years of artistry. Eight years of evolution. And I’m still just as inspired by what’s ahead. 🤍

Do you ever feel like your lips disappear into the rest of your face?

Lip color plays such a bigger role in our overall complexion than we realize. The right amount of color can add warmth, contrast, and definition which can make your entire face look more vibrant, even without adding any other makeup.

When the natural lips are very light or lack contrast, our features can sometimes feel a little unbalanced. Adding the right lip tone can bring everything back together. Your eyes stand out, your complexion feels brighter, and your lips have beautiful definition without reaching for lipstick every day.

For this client, we chose a gorgeous rosy pink to bring life and definition back to her lips while still complementing her natural coloring. And can we talk about how much this shade makes her eyes POP?! 😍

Keep in mind, these lips are fresh! Lip blush will fade approximately 50% as it heals, so this color will become much softer, lighter, and less vibrant once healed. ✨
