What a weekend with my Southern Grace girls! 💕✂️ We packed in lots of education, learned some new techniques, found plenty of inspiration, and of course squeezed in LOTS of laughs and team bonding along the way. ✨

One of my favorite things about this industry is that there is ALWAYS something new to learn, and I’m coming home feeling inspired, refreshed, and so excited to put some of these new skills to work! 🤩

So thankful for a weekend spent learning, laughing, and making memories with the best crew.

Wishing all of the students, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, and every person who helps make our schools so amazing a wonderful first day back! I hope this school year is filled with laughter, learning, new friendships, and so much success.

A very special shout-out to my mom. ❤️ While so many of us enjoy summer vacations, she doesn't get that luxury. She works incredibly hard all summer long behind the scenes preparing for another school year, and I've always admired her dedication to the students, teachers, and staff she serves.

Mom, I hope this is your smoothest, happiest, and best school year yet. You deserve all the good things this year has to offer, and I'm so proud of everything you do.

✂️ TRIM vs. HAIRCUT — What’s the difference?

This is a question we hear all the time:

“I only need a trim… is it cheaper than a haircut?”

Here’s the scoop: A trim IS a haircut. 🤍

The only difference between a “trim” and a “haircut” is the amount of hair being removed.

Whether I’m taking off ½ an inch or 5 inches, the service itself is still the same. I’m still:

✂️ Consulting with you about your desired length & shape
✂️ Sectioning and cutting your hair
✂️ Checking the shape, balance, and blend
✂️ Making sure everything lays correctly
✂️ Finishing and detailing your cut

It takes approximately the same amount of appointment time, skill, and attention to properly trim your hair as it does to take several inches off.

Think of it this way: you’re not paying per inch of hair removed. You’re paying for the haircut service and the time and expertise that go into creating it. 💕

So whether you say, “Just the tiniest trim!” or “Let’s chop it!” — it’s still a haircut, just a different amount coming off. ✂️✨

And yes, we’ll always talk about exactly how much you’re comfortable taking off before those scissors get to work! 🤍

I've been behind the chair at Southern Grace Salon & Boutique for over 10 years, and I still absolutely love helping my clients feel beautiful. Blonding is my happy place—whether it's bright highlights, lived-in blondes, or giving your color a fresh refresh, I'm all about creating hair you love.

This summer has been a whirlwind! We moved into a new home, spent an incredible week traveling for my daughter's softball, and somehow we've already made it to the last week of summer. This week is especially bittersweet because my daughter is turning 16, getting her driver's license, and I'm wondering where the time went!

Meanwhile, salon life is in full swing, and I've been working some long days getting everyone freshened up before the school year begins. It's busy, but I truly wouldn't have it any other way.
