~Road Closures~

If you don’t already know, a major intersection in Harrisburg will be starting construction Monday morning 4/17/23 around 8:30 AM. Willow St at the intersection of Cliff Ave will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic while they work on the roundabout project. This will present some significant traffic congestion in town over the next few months. This project is expected to be completed in November.

There are also two other road closures that will have a significant impact on travel in and out of Harrisburg. Cliff Ave is currently closed north of Harrisburg at the intersection of 85th St. Construction crews will also be paving 272nd St in between Cliff Ave and Minnesota Ave. This mile stretch will be closed during that time.

With all this construction going on, residential streets in town, as well as nearby county roads, will take the brunt of the traffic. Deputies will be keeping a close eye on the traffic flow and will be proactive in their traffic enforcement. The speed limit in residential areas is 20 mph. For the most part, the speed limit on surrounding gravel roads is 35 mph. These speed limits will be strictly enforced. Please do your part and exercise patience and safe driving during the next few months to ensure everyone stays safe.
