The name doesn’t matter….its the right dose and placement that counts.

For this patient, the glabellar complex was treated by targeting the procerus and bilateral corrugator muscles based on their anatomy and her individual movement pattern.

Why does precision matter? If treatment is placed too high (the muscle INSERTION) on the muscle, lower lying muscle fibers (the ORIGIN of the muscles) may continue to contract—meaning you may still see movement even after treatment. Your injector should know the origin and site of insertion for every muscle in your face before ever touching your face.

There is no magic “low dose” that works for everyone—and needing more units doesn’t mean your treatment is being overdone. The wrinkles and a budget are not always on the same page.

Your dosing can be influenced by muscle strength, facial movement, treatment consistency, and the condition of your skin. Years of sun exposure ☀️, tanning 👙, smoking 🚬, inconsistent sunscreen 🚨, dehydration🌵🏜️, and limited skincare 🧴 can contribute to lines becoming more established.

And this is where preventative + consistent treatment matters.

Neuromodulators can soften the repetitive muscle movement that creates expression lines, but they can’t erase years of skin damage in a single appointment. Once lines are etched into the skin at rest, improvement often requires consistent treatments over time + good skincare + daily SPF—and sometimes additional skin-focused treatments (cough….microneedling…cough cough).

Expecting ultra-low dosing while continuing habits that accelerate skin aging simply isn’t realistic.
