The Ministry of Hair

We specialize in a great variety of styles including but not limited to the latest trends and the age old classics. Topics galore
Opinions abound
Hard to ignore
The varied sounds
Laughter, excitement, arguments
Supported by
Elaborate expressions;
Are hard to miss
Many tell lies
Persuaded by an obsession
To argue their opinion
As if it's the best one
But most discussions
Are meant to impress some
Though they contain little truth
and no substantial proof
But you won't hear that confession
A gathering of races and ages
Old and youth
Black and white
At all different stages
And points in life
Religious and political persuasion
Are highly debated
And entertaining as seen
By the hearers amazement
Facts and myths are stated
Some words are mean
Some obscene
What an exchange of thought
If tickets were sold
Surely all would be bought
A bell rings
And boxers prepare for war
The competitors constantly switch teams
Everyone keeps score
Though not accurately
Most miscalculate the facts deliberately
Wanting to come off as more than they are
No one wants the supporting role
But everyone wants to be the star
For many self-elevation is the primary goal
Even if it's temporary
The pace continuously changes
Conversations come and go
A producer couldn't do a better job at the arrangement
So I sit back and enjoy the show
Most times I watch
Many times I participate
Not wanting to entangle in the bickering
Sometimes I still take the bait
Hoping to be a dim light flickering
On the path to the Kingdoms' gate
But I also laugh and jess
Enjoying foolish things at their request
All the while feeling the stress
Of conflicting dialogue from us
And our guests
The encouraging words I appreciate
But as the day grows late
I anticipate
My escape
Where I get away
To hear my consoler say
"Honey, how was your day?"
And I reply, "You wouldn't believe
what I heard at the Barber Shop today!"
