10 Years in Hastings. 15 Years in Practice. A Whole Lot to Be Thankful For.
Before anything elseāIām thankful for my husband, Dusty. His steady support, patience, and handyman magic have been behind every step of this journey. From building out spaces to building me up when I needed it most, heās been my quiet champion and my favorite teammate.
Iām also deeply thankful to God, who gave me this passion and talentāand continues to guide me in using it to bring healing, connection, and joy to others.
This month marks 10 years of practicing massage therapy in Hastings, NEāand 15 years since I first became licensed. Itās wild to look back and see how far this path has taken me, and how many people have walked it with me.
Iām deeply thankful for:
- My parents, who supported me from the very beginning and never stopped cheering me on. Daryl Kniep Angela Kniep Tami Willmes Perry Kurt Perry RobandRebecca Allotta
- My clients, whoāve shown grace and understanding when life as a mom intersects with workāwhether itās sports seasons, school schedules, or maternity leave for two of my three beautiful babies.
- Those who respect my time, knowing this isnāt just a jobāitās my livelihood. Every hour matters.
- The flexibility this career gives me to show up for my kidsā events and milestones.
- My safety in this field. Iāve never had a scary experience, and I donāt take that for granted. And Iāll say this clearly: jokes about inappropriate services are never funny. Theyāre disrespectful to the profession and to the people who do this work with integrity. They also open the door for others to think those kinds of requests are acceptableāand theyāre not.
- Healthcare professionals who see massage as more than pamperingāwho recognize its healing potential and treat me as a peer.
- Jason Hester, who nudged me out of temp jobs and into building something real. You were right.
- David Shuck and Curtis Iliff , whose conversation led me to Melody Vader-Iliff at Vibesāand to Angie Lukasiewicz and Brenna LaBreche , who gave me the gentlest, kindest entry into this industry.
- Abby Bob Collins , who had the vision and drive to start a new salonāand invited me to be part of it. Her courage and leadership opened the door to a new chapter Iām so grateful for.
- Jamie, who came on board this year and brought a fresh energy to our space.
- Mecala Gerloff-Poppe and the network of therapists Iāve met along the way. Thereās no competition hereājust community. It takes confidence to refer someone elsewhere, and Iāve seen that generosity firsthand.
And most of all, Iām thankful for the relationships built in the quiet of the massage room. Iāve gotten to know your storiesāyour highs and lows, your families, your leaps of faith, your weddings, graduations, and losses. I love the laughter that bubbles up mid-session, when we have to pause because weāre both cracking up. That joy is healing too.
But I also love the silence. The moment when tension finally lets go. When a body thatās been carrying too much finally feels light again. When pain gives way to peace.
Thank you for trusting me with your care. For letting me be part of your journey. Hereās to the next chapterāwhatever it holds.

For I know the plans I have for you,ā says the Lord. āThey are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
