Graduating from esthetics school is only the beginning. Becoming an exceptional wax specialist comes from performing hundreds, even thousands, of services while continuing to refine your technique. Every client is different. Hair growth patterns, skin sensitivity, body contours, and comfort levels all require knowledge, patience, and experience.

I’ve been fortunate to train with one of the best wax educators in our area, and that foundation has shaped the way I care for my clients. Combined with more than 20 years in healthcare, I bring a deep respect for safety, professionalism, and compassionate care to every appointment.

For me, waxing is about more than removing hair. It’s about protecting the skin, preventing irritation and ingrown hairs, creating a comfortable experience, and helping people feel confident in their own skin.

🌸Before Your Appointment

• Hair should be about ¼ inch long (roughly the length of a grain of rice). Usually 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving is ideal.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning, retinol products, and exfoliation for 24-48 hours beforehand.
• Stay hydrated and moisturized in the days leading up to your appointment.
• If you’re sensitive to pain, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment (if appropriate for you).
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

🌸 During Your Wax

• The first wax is often the most uncomfortable because the hair is thicker and deeply rooted. It gets easier with regular appointments.
• Your esthetician has seen it all. There’s no need to feel embarrassed.
• Deep breathing and staying relaxed can help reduce discomfort.
• The appointment is usually much quicker than most people expect.

🌸 After Your Wax

• Avoid hot tubs, saunas, intense workouts, swimming, and sexual activity for 24 hours.
• Wear loose clothing to minimize irritation.
• Avoid touching the area unnecessarily.
• Wait 24-48 hours before exfoliating. Then begin gentle exfoliation a few times per week to help prevent ingrown hairs.
• Moisturize regularly with a fragrance-free product.

• Mild redness and sensitivity are completely normal for the first few hours.
• You may notice a few stray hairs initially because hair grows in different cycles.
• Consistent waxing every 4-6 weeks typically leads to softer, finer, and sparser regrowth over time.
