my day one was in 2016, I started teaching myself how to do makeup by watching youtube tutorials. I struggled with really bad acne and would wake up an extra hour before school to do full glam. I was very creative & posted my looks, then suddenly the older girls were asking me to do their makeup when I was 14 years old. I started with all my own products and had 3 foundation shades. I loved glamming girls and doing more intricate looks on myself, I knew I wanted to pursue this. So, while in high school I did cosmetology school and graduated with my license at 18. I started assisting in hair salons and got experience with hair color, cutting, styling, nails, I loved doing a little bit of everything. My true passion was always makeup artistry, but I wouldn’t be where I am now without all my past mentors, jobs, experiences, but most importantly failures. I truly believe you have to fail in order to succeed, and that it will be the greatest lesson you need to overcome. It feels terrifying in that moment, but it’s scarier to not even try and risk staying in the same position.
