🥺🥺 A difficult update but here we go...
I spoke with my NP on Friday March 24th. She advised me that my neck is not healing according to my CT April 1st. We both agreed that we would order another scan to see the difference of 4 weeks.
Thursday my Neurosurgeon called..... He explained that I may have to be in this brace another 3-6 months. (yes im losing my mind at this point) I have 2 other options, Wear a Halo for 3 months or Fuse my neck. Both sound awful to both of us, so we are sticking with the neck brace.
It also means, I am not able to start PT on my back for this period as well. I really hope this doesn't hinder my healing process even more. The pain sucks.
I did my CT Friday and according to the radiology notes there is no change but I have not talked to the Dr about it yet. 😭😭

Has anyone worn a neck brace through the summer heat? Have any ideas so im not constantly stuck indoors or sweating profusely because of the added padding? Please Help 🙏🙏🙏

Hey there! I hope everyone had a great week.
I heard from the Neurosurgeons office on Friday regarding my CT scan. Unfortunately, I was informed that my neck is not healing the way they had hoped 🥺 Like at all. I still have a 4mm gap in my C1
I asked if we could do another CT since the last one was on the April 1st. So she sent the order over. Hopefully this is better news but I'd be lying if I said it didn't absolutely crush me to hear.
I was hoping to start PT on my back but I have to push that out until I get the okay on my neck. I did get my wrist PT scheduled but it will be a couple weeks before that starts.
So until then I will continue to take it easy.

I know its been a bit and I apologize, there unfortunately hasn't been anything to really share. I had a CT scan done per the Neurosurgeon due to the xrays not showing a clear view of how my neck was actually healing. I did it here in Helena so it took a while to get the orders sent over and then took even longer to get the results (scans and notes) sent back to Billings. I finally have an appt to go over it April 24th. 🤞🤞🤞 hoping for good news. April 27th, I start PT on my back. PT for my wrist will start soon as well.
I'm trying to do a little more every day. Sometimes it sets me back a few days. But im trying. I still spend a lot of time in the recliner and have watched so many Shows and Movies. Any recommendations would be awesome 🤣🙏 we have most streaming channels to choose from.

Hey yall!! Its been an eventful week. Went to Billings last friday, xrays weren't showing us what we needed to see so I had to have a CT scan back here in helena. Was able to get that done yesterday and im now waiting for a phone call from the Neurosurgeons office on the ever so confusing radiology notes.
Wrist update!!! Brace is off!!! I can resume normal function for the most part. Any heavier stuff still requires the brace though. Im being referred to PT for my back so that should start soon.
Im still in pain but it is lessening slowly. Im just taking it one day at a time. Im going to try taking a couple clients to see if my body can handle it or if I need to take some more time. I will keep yall updated.

Weekly update 🥰

The fundraiser at Taco Del Sol went well for us making it on St Patrick's Day. Thank you for the people that were able to go in for some delicious food. I was able to be there for a little bit to see people before my body decided it was done and I was exhausted.

This week I have a couple appointments. The big one being in Billings on Friday for xrays and follow-up with Neurosurgery. The other is working through my severe ASD (acute Stress disorder) I just want to love being in a vehicle again 🥺😭

I know everything is healing slowly but im impatient. Some days its 1 step forward and 3 steps back when it comes to pain and uncomfortability. Im still mostly sitting in this chair watching movies and shows, so if you're in the neighborhood stop on by and say hi!! I would love the company 🥰

Next update should have some hopefully good news 🤞🤞

As far as me, Im feeling a little better every day. Headaches are pretty much daily just varying in severity. I am sick to death of being in a neck and wrist brace but I am following all orders and keeping them on. 🤕
Just definitely reaching that cabin fever point lol.
Appointments coming up in Billings next week on the 27th with the Neurosurgeon. Praying for good weather and a decent drive down. I still have a really hard time being in a car. But im hopeful for a better ride than last time 🤞🤞

I miss my clients so much and im eager to get back to y'all. I know its been a slow process and i appreciate you all for reaching out and helping in every way. I should have some news after my appointment next week on when I can come back part time.

I am so thankful for the support system I have. I couldnt imagine going through this without yall.
