Reactive + congested skin requires a little strategy.

Her skin was presenting with congestion while also being pretty reactive. She’s currently in her luteal phase, which is also worth noting because hormonal fluctuations during this part of the cycle can influence oil production, inflammation and breakouts for some people.

We focused on thorough extractions to clear the congestion, while still being mindful of how reactive her skin was. Rather than overwhelming her with aggressive exfoliation, the rest of the treatment focused on calming, hydrating and supporting the skin.

And this is exactly why I like looking beyond just what I see on the surface. Skin can be influenced by your cycle, stress, lifestyle, current routine and barrier health. All pieces I like to take into consideration when deciding how I want to treat it.

Now we’re keeping her home care intentional and working toward calmer, clearer, more balanced skin. 🤍

I’m Vietnamese, Filipino & Puerto Rican, and the values of family and hard work have shaped so much of who I am.

This career started with a simple suggestion from my mama. She told me she thought esthetics would suit me, and years later I’m still grateful she saw something in me before I saw it in myself.

What began from that moment turned into a career I truly love. For almost 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people feel confident in their skin. I love blending science-based skincare with a calming, restorative experience that nourishes skin and spirit.

Outside the treatment room, I’m usually in mom mode, listening to music, eating Asian food, sweating it out at hot yoga, or on long walks with my puppy.🥰
