When you create art, sometimes you can put light on an issue that you feel very deeply about!
As a child I never thought twice about my dad going in that damn dark coal mine day after day, night after night depending on which shift he was on just to put food on the table. As an adult, I see him barely breathing as he walks across our campsite, or as he walks into my house for dinner every night, or when he just... walks living his best life!
With this piece I honor my father!
And I shed light on "black lung"!
Two simple words put together that creates such an image for every one of us who has been affected by this coal dust monster!
Black lung takes an average of 12 years of life away from that person! 12 years just to make an honest man's wage!
This Friday (Helper's First Friday that Ashley originally created 🩷) will be the first time you can stop by and see my art and many others at Canvas Alchemy Art. Also Ashley is offering a FREE WORKSHOP!
Then again they will be displayed for Helper's Arts Festival!

Free handing the old school way.
I've been doing nails 29 years and back in the day there were no stamping plates to do quick nail art with, and stickers never stayed on more than a week because gel top coat had not hit till about 2000s.
