After making a daily use custom silicone prosthesis for our TMA client, she came back with a suitcase full of heels she was NOT willing to part with. So… it’s a custom high heel foot to the rescue! 😌

BTS prep of a socket fitting for a new TMA client. Translucent socket fittings allow us to check for gaps, pressure points, and other important details that need to be perfected for a direct skin contact silicone prosthesis.
Showcasing a finished hand for a mature gentleman. This client lost part of his hand as a teenager and yet continued to work hard in a detail oriented, physical career crafting high end handbags throughout his life. The character in his hands reflect his incredible work ethic, and it was an honor to update his prosthesis and honor the complexity of another artist’s working hands.
This is a custom, passive hand prosthesis. It has metal armatures within the digits that can me manually manipulated to slightly adjust the flexion of the fingers. While passive prostheses do not use bionics to move, they do serve other functional purposes like assisting with closing door, pushing carts or strollers, and holding or stabilizing lightweight objects and papers.

🚨WORK IN PROGRESS🚨 Watch some behind the scenes clips that demonstrate just how “hand” 👐🏼 made this hand really is. Every wrinkle is added individually by our medical sculptor using traditional tools and techniques. Our in house Anaplastologist meets every client in person and when it comes time to sculpt their final prosthesis, their piece gets her undivided attention and concentration. We recently had the honor of designing a new prosthesis for this client. The prosthesis she came in wearing (from another company) was causing discomfort in her limb and did not accommodate for a notable height difference in her legs, causing her shoulder to dip with every step as she walked. Over the process of working together, it was so exciting to hear her describe activities she has now discovered she can do pain free and barefoot in her new prosthesis like dancing, jumping, and yoga.
It is one of the bright spots of this career to be able to listen to our client’s individual experience, wants and needs to customize a solution that improves their comfort, confidence and quality of life. Thank you for your trust and the opportunity to update your prosthesis. 🩵

It has been a privilege to share our work at the as a part of their new exhibit: Every body Every mind. The reception of this event was filled to the brim with a beautiful and diverse crowd who were taking in and interacting with all this exhibit has to offer. It was an honor to represent our company as a medical artist and discuss this field and its offerings with so many new faces, and a pleasure to be supported by some familiar ones, like our young client who has two of his previous feet featured in our display. 🥰 If you’re in the area, please stop by the museum and enjoy this thoughtful and inclusive show!
