Lighter haired clients can be the MOST challenging clients to color match & here’s why:

1. If paired with a lamination, stains can absorb 2-3x faster resulting in brows that are way too dark

2. Most brands have a recommended min. time to leave the stain on for and even THAT is too long because applying stains on light haired clients vs dark is a whole other process

3. If you’re applying it with a traditional stain method (brush to brow) AND following recommended stain times AND pairing it with lamination = fast processing results (which can lead to unwanted dark brows)

The best way I’ve been able to stop my clients brows from going too dark esp on light haired clients is by using a layering method!

This changed the game for me and completely got rid of any anxiety I felt around over processing or fearing my clients would end up with black brows 🫣

This client came in because she was experiencing unevenness in her brows

She was going to a threader who made one bright slightly higher and the other flatter

Feeling frustrated, she went in a tik tok hunt to find a new artist and decided to try a new artist (which I know can be really scary)

What really mattered to her was to get them as even as possible without going too dark and too thick

So we did a lamination, light stain, and wax + mapping so she could see the shape before we removed anything

At the end she was happy but next time were going to try going even thinner as per her request!

I felt honored because she is a detailed Virgo queen so I really made sure to try and listen 🥹✨
