I’ve had quite a few clients ask me about classic lashes lately and this little gem popped up. This is a great example of classic lashes. Now, this was 8 years ago and I would probably tweak 1 or 2 things now but this photo showcases how beautifully classic lashes can enhance your own beauty without feeling like it’s too much. Classic lashes are when 1 extension is placed on one lash. It won’t add to how many lashes you have but will make what you do have longer and thicker. It is a wonderful choice for those who don’t want people to know instantly that they have lashes on. They also are generally a bit less maintenance than volume. If you’ve been hesitant about trying lashes, classic is the perfect start.

Lash Serums, we all know about them many of us use them yet some of them have life long side effects. Latisse is known to work, lengthening and thickening your lashes but it is also known that it can cause pigmentation in light colored eyes. The active ingredient in the serum is bimatoprost (strong enough to be considered a drug to the FDA) this is the chemical that makes it work but will turn blue or green eyes dark brown. Latisse knows this and has admitted and warned its customers about the effects. Generally, you need a doctor’s prescription to even get it. There is another brand that also turns blue and green eyes brown and that is the Rodan and Fields Lash Boost. I have a client that had green eyes but when she started using Lash Boost they turned a dark brown. Turns out their active ingredient is isopropyl cloprostentate, which is very similar to the bimatoprost (It is also considered a drug to the FDA). They have the same side effects. She tried to contact the company to tell them this was happening and and they have repeatedly denied the claim. Stating that Lash Boost does not cause these problems. It does.“I downplay how I feel about it sometimes but the truth is I feel like they used deception to steal something from me that I can never get back and it’s hard to deal with that sometimes. I’m not a shallow person but my green eyes were actually the one thing that I liked about my face.”-My Client. I have heard of others that have had the same thing happen to them. It’s heart breaking. Customers back in 2018 actually sued R&F for not telling anyone about the active ingredient and listing the side effects. The case is still in court but there is a motion in court and if it passes (covid has halted proceedings) then R&F will have to label Lash Boost’s ingredients and side effects in certain states (not all mind you, only 6 states will be labeled). “I still find it weird to look in the mirror and see a different color after decades of my natural color”-My Client. If you have blue or green eyes please do not use this product. There are many other brands that can work just as well!
