SIGNS YOUR SCALP MAY BE UNHEALTHY ✨
Most people focus on their hair… but forget that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.
If your scalp is irritated, inflamed, dry, or clogged, your hair may struggle to thrive no matter how many products you use.

Here are a few signs your scalp may need attention:

• Excessive itching
• Flaking or dandruff
• Oily scalp shortly after washing
• Redness or irritation
• Tenderness or scalp pain
• Heavy product buildup
• Excess shedding
• Dry, tight feeling after shampooing
• Small bumps or scalp acne
Your scalp should feel calm, balanced, and healthy — not irritated or uncomfortable.

✨ A healthy scalp helps support:

✔️Stronger hair
✔ Better moisture balance
✔ Reduced breakage
✔ Healthier-looking growth

Simple ways to support a healthier scalp: • Cleanse consistently

• Avoid excessive tension from tight styles
• Reduce heavy buildup
• Stay hydrated
• Use scalp-focused products
• Pay attention to inflammation and irritation

I decided to try the Eva NYC scalp serum because I have a lot of clients who automatically reach for oils when their scalp feels dry. In reality, oil isn’t always the best option, especially if the scalp already tends to get oily or if the hair has just been flat ironed.
What caught my attention about this serum is that it has glycolic acid, which can help loosen buildup on the scalp, and hyaluronic acid, which helps bring hydration to the skin. So instead of putting a heavy oil on the scalp, this gives lightweight hydration without making the hair greasy or weighed down.
I used it on my mom because her scalp was a little dry, but I didn’t want to ruin her fresh flat iron with oil. The texture is very lightweight, which I like, and it absorbs pretty easily into the scalp.
In my opinion, this type of product works well for people who want hydration on the scalp without adding extra oil. It’s especially helpful if you deal with buildup, dryness, or a scalp that feels tight but still gets oily.
Overall, I think it’s a good option for scalp balance, and sometimes that’s really what the scalp needs — not more oil.

I actually liked this scalp scrub more than I expected.
The first thing I noticed was the micro-exfoliating beads. They’re smaller and finer than a lot of scalp scrubs I’ve tried, which I appreciate because larger, rough particles can feel damaging or too aggressive on the scalp. These felt gentle but still effective. I didn’t feel like I was scratching or irritating my scalp.
There was definitely a tingling sensation from the rosemary/peppermint ingredients, which I personally like. That cooling/tingling feeling makes it feel like it’s stimulating and refreshing the scalp. It gave that “deep clean” sensation without feeling overly harsh.
It did a good job helping with buildup and leaving my scalp feeling clean and refreshed.
The only downside for me was the smell. I personally did not like the scent at all. It’s not unbearable, but it’s not something I enjoyed during the wash process.
Also, this is NOT an everyday shampoo. It works best as a weekly or occasional scalp treatment to exfoliate and remove buildup. Using something like this daily could be too much for most scalps.
Overall, I think it’s a solid scalp exfoliating treatment — especially if you deal with buildup or itchy scalp — just not a daily-use shampoo.

Hair growth isn’t just about products.
It’s protein, vitamins, minerals, and a healthy scalp.
I see this a lot with my vegan & vegetarian clients — when nutrients are low, hair can become weak, thin, or start shedding. You can be plant-based and have healthy hair… you just have to be intentional.
Inside first. Outside second.
Save this if you’re on a hair healing journey 🤍

One common cause of hair loss can be medications.
Blood pressure meds, birth control, blood thinners, ADHD meds, anxiety & depression meds, and thyroid medication can sometimes push hair into an active shedding phase.
I know it can be frustrating — but throwing random products at it won’t fix the cause.
If you’re experiencing this type of hair loss, talk to your doctor about your concerns.
Do not stop taking your medication without medical guidance.
Education first. Panic never helps.
