Just as you swap sandals for boots, your hair routine might need a little swap too! As the leaves change and the temps drop, so do our hair needs. During fall and winter, the cooler, drier air can sometimes leave our locks craving a little more TLC.

It’s not just your wardrobe that needs a seasonal switch-up – your hair routine might too! Think more moisture, protection, and perhaps a new product or two to keep that shine through the dry seasons!

Anyone else feeling the seasonal hair shift? Drop your cold-weather hair faves below!

Should I use hair oil even if my hair is oily?

I get this question a lot and the answer is yes! All hair benefits from hair oil. The trick is finding the oil that works for you!

Let's dive into the importance of hair oil and the incredible benefits it offers to everyone.

Hair oil is a game-changer when it comes to nourishing and revitalizing your locks. Here's why it's a must-have in your haircare routine:
👉 Restores moisture: Hair oil helps replenish essential moisture, especially if your hair tends to be dry or damaged. It nourishes and hydrates each strand, giving your hair a healthier and more vibrant appearance.
👉 Provides heat protection: Applying hair oil before styling can act as a protective barrier, shielding your locks from the damaging effects of heat styling tools. It's like a little armor for your hair!
👉 Tames frizz and adds shine: Hair oil works wonders in controlling frizz and flyaways, leaving your mane smooth and manageable. It also adds a beautiful natural shine, enhancing the overall look of your hair.
👉 Enhances scalp health: Yes, hair oil benefits your scalp too! It can help soothe a dry or itchy scalp, nourishing it from within and promoting a healthier environment for hair growth.
So, don't shy away from hair oil, even if you have oily hair. The key is to choose a lightweight formula and apply it sparingly, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.

Have you tried hair oil before? If so, what’s your current favorite one?

Want to know the benefits of balayage/lived in color? Read below!

Natural-looking highlights: Balayage creates soft, natural-looking highlights that mimic the way the sun naturally lightens hair, resulting in a more effortless and lived-in look.

Low-maintenance: Since balayage focuses on hand-painting highlights onto the hair, there are no harsh regrowth lines, allowing for longer periods between touch-ups and reducing the need for frequent salon visits.

Customizable: Balayage is highly customizable, allowing hair stylists to tailor the highlights to suit each individual’s hair color, texture, and face shape, ensuring a personalized and flattering result.

Versatile: Balayage works well with various hair lengths and types, from short to long hair, and can be adapted to achieve both subtle and dramatic effects.

Face-framing effect: Balayage strategically places highlights around the face, accentuating facial features and adding a brightening effect without the need for a full head of highlights.

Grow-out friendly: As balayage grows out, it maintains a soft and seamless transition, making it easy to blend with your natural hair color and avoiding the need for frequent touch-ups.

Trendy and fashionable: Balayage has become a popular hair trend, often seen on celebrities and influencers, making it a stylish choice for those looking to stay up-to-date with current hair fashions.

Overall, balayage is an excellent option for those seeking a low-maintenance, natural-looking, and versatile hair color that enhances their overall appearance.

Did you know that your hair can be a reflection of your overall health?

As a hairstylist, I encourage you to check with your doctor if you notice sudden hair loss, excessive shedding, or any other changes that concern you. Many conditions ranging from things like hypothyroidism, PCOS, and autoimmune disorders to stress, poor diet, and vitamin deficiencies can all take a toll on the health of your hair. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s important to talk to your doctor to identify the root cause of these changes and provide you with the right treatment plan to get your hair - and your health - back on track.

Have you ever noticed your hair being affected during times of stress or sickness? Let me know in the comments!

Here are six tips specifically for blondes to maintain their hair color and keep their locks looking gorgeous:

Deep condition regularly: Blonde hair can be more prone to dryness and damage, especially if it's lightened through bleaching. Use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week to nourish and moisturize your hair, helping to keep it soft, smooth, and healthy.

Protect your hair from the sun: Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause your blonde hair to fade and become dull. Before heading outside, protect your hair by wearing a hat or using hair products with UV protection to shield it from harmful sun rays.

Be gentle with wet hair: Wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage. Avoid vigorous towel-drying and opt for a microfiber towel to gently blot excess water from your hair. Additionally, use a wide-tooth comb to detangle wet hair, starting from the ends and working your way up.

Limit heat styling: Heat styling can damage your hair and strip it of its natural moisture. Whenever possible, embrace your natural texture and limit the use of hot tools. If you need to style with heat, always use a heat protectant spray before styling to minimize damage.

Get regular trims: Regular trims (every 6-8 weeks) help maintain the health of your hair, prevent split ends, and keep your blonde locks looking fresh and polished.

By following these tips, you can keep your blonde hair looking its best and ensure that it remains vibrant, healthy, and full of life.

This ONE thing can cause the most DAMAGE to your hair! You wanna know what can make the biggest difference in your hair health that you probably don’t even realize?

Stress. That’s right. Stress can be the biggest culprit to hair struggles. Our hair growth goes through cycles of shedding and growing. Stress can push hair follicles into a “resting” phase so that they don’t produce new hair strands. Over time, hair can
fall out more easily, even if you’re just washing, combing, or touching it.

Even though it’s helpful to invest in good products, get regular trims and avoid causing excess damage with hot tools… Taking care of YOU is the best thing you can do for your hair!

Have you noticed a difference in your hair during periods of extra stress? This is a very common struggle and you’re not alone.

Great reviews make my day! I absolutely love making people feel their best! 🤍

Attention all pool lovers!

If you’re someone who enjoys spending time in the pool, it’s essential to keep your hair healthy and free from the damaging effects of chlorine. One way to achieve this is by incorporating a clarifying shampoo into your haircare routine. These shampoos are specifically designed to remove chlorine and other pool chemicals that can be harsh on your hair and scalp.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

True or False? Hair colors work better on dirty hair.
I’ve heard this myth time and time again, and I’m here to set the record straight: This is false!

While it may seem counterintuitive, the truth is that hair color actually takes better on clean hair. Clean hair allows for the color to pe*****te the strands more evenly and results in a more vibrant, long-lasting color. Plus, it’s always best to start with a clean slate when it comes to any hair color service. That being said, it’s still important to avoid washing your hair for 24-48 hours after coloring to allow the color to fully set.

So next time you’re booking a color appointment, make sure to come in with freshly washed hair for the best results!

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between balayage and traditional foil highlights? Let me break it down for you!

Balayage is a French technique that involves hand-painting the color onto the hair. This creates a natural, sun-kissed look that is blended in seamlessly with your hair.

On the other hand, traditional foil highlights involve separating sections of hair and applying the color using foils. This technique allows for a more precise and even distribution of color throughout the hair, resulting in a more defined and uniform look.

So which one is right for you? It all depends on the look you're going for! Balayage is great if you want a low-maintenance, natural look, while traditional foil highlights are perfect if you're looking for a more dramatic change.

Need help deciding which technique is right for you? Let's chat! Send a DM and we’ll chat balayage vs foils for your next appointment!

Are you thinking about adding some dimension into your hair, but don’t necessarily want to go blonde? If so, a brunette balayage would be perfect for you!

This would require a couple levels of lift lighter than your natural color, but not light enough to go blonde. We would then need to tone to give that desired brunette shade and to cancel out any unwanted tones.

If this is something you are interested in, I would love to speak with you and answer any questions!
