A 2025 randomized study involving 72 women ages 30–59 compared facial and body acupuncture with a no-treatment group.

After 12 sessions over 6 weeks:
🌿 63% of the acupuncture group showed improvement in frown lines at rest.
🌿 72% showed improvement while frowning.
🌿 Improvements were still observed at the week-12 follow-up.

These percentages describe how many participants improved—not how much their wrinkles decreased.

Encouraging early findings, with more research needed: this was a small study without a sham-acupuncture comparison, and it did not evaluate nanoneedling.

An encouraging finding, with an important limit: this observational study cannot prove that hormone therapy caused the improvements. Hormone therapy is not FDA-approved to treat mood disorders, and care should be tailored to your symptoms and health history.
