Many ask how I got started in this specialty 24 years ago. Yes, I am a dinosaur! Read the comments for a bullet point of how I started and continue! Best advice is stay. Humble, check your ego (this can be hard in this specialty), stop comparing yourself, realize you never know it all, and always keep learning and growing.

I get asked all if the time how did I get started in aesthetic medicine? I have been doing this since 2000 and it is my passion! Wow, 24 years is a lifetime. Here is my 20 second bullet point outline. Hopefully, it will help you!
2000- started w/ IPL, mesotherapy, and skincare.
I realized complete health was wellbeing, and that included being health and looking healthy.
2002- Along came Botox! Game changer
2003- HA filler (Restylane) arrives. Called the rep and found someone to train me.
2006-Opened my business!! I saw a need and jumped in feet first😜😜
Biostimulators and Juvederm hit the scene and my passion for injecting grew💉💉
😩😩training was hard to find and conferences were far and few between. I was reading, watching, and attending anything I could. 💽📽️🖥️
I attended my first real conference, The South Beach Symposium.
2008- I started private training since I think I had already made almost all of the mistakes you could make. Figured I would share from the error of my ways.😳😳
2011/12-became an Allergan trainer. I learned so much from fellow trainers and from those I trained.
2015- taught me a new way to look at injecting
2015- totally changed the way I looked at the face
2020- began speaking at conferences I had been attending. Thank you for taking a chance on me first.
Today, I continue attending and speaking at any and all conferences I can. I have been blessed to learn from some of the true icons in our specialty. While I think I was somewhat of a rebel, I had a dream and a vision. Am I there yet? No!! Do I keep learning, networking, and trying to soak in everything I can yes! Keep your vision focused and realize you always have more to learn!
