MONDAY HAIR TIP: The Wash Day Water Temp 🌡️🚿
Why your steaming hot shower is silently stripping your salon color.
The Reality:
I get it! nothing feels better after a long day than a blistering hot shower. But high heat opens up your hair's cuticle layer like a trap door, letting those fresh toner molecules and artificial pigments wash straight down the drain.
You don't have to take an ice-cold shower, but here is the trick to preserving your color and shine:
Lather Warm, Rinse Cool: Wash your scalp with comfortably warm water to break up oil, then do your final conditioner rinse as cool as you can tolerate to seal that cuticle flat.
Protect the Perimeter: If you're just washing your body, throw your hair up in a claw clip or shower cap to keep the steaming water and indirect body heat off your color.
Color Preservation: Cold-water rinses lock in shine, reduce frizz, and extend the life of glossy toners by weeks!

Why relying on dry shampoo to stretch your style past day 4 might be secretly causing your hair to thin or flake.
The Reality:
Dry shampoo is an incredible tool, but let’s set the record straight: it’s an oil absorber, not a dirt remover.
When dry shampoo, natural oils, and dead skin cells layer up over several days, they form a thick paste that clogs your hair follicles. Over time, this causes irritation, flaking (that gets mistaken for "dry scalp"), and can even slow down healthy hair growth!
How to reset without throwing your favorite bottle away:
Spot Treat: Spray only where you need it (roots and hairline), not your entire scalp every single day.
The Clarifying Reset: Use a gentle clarifying shampoo or scalp scrub once every 3–4 washes to break down trapped starch and silicone buildup.
Double Cleanse: On wash day, do two lathers! Wash #1 breaks up product buildup; Wash #2 actually cleanses your skin and hair.
