I started fasting in 2016. Started with water only, moved to fruit only, then started doing intermittent styled then Ramadan fasting.
-

They all have their rewards.

Longer period fasts should be done under supervision or after consultation with experienced practitioners.

I’ve had people end up going to the hospital, which could have been prevented but they didn’t consult with me first.
-

Everyone has different health goals and complications so it’s wise to consult first.
-

I’ve done multiple 3-5-7 day water fasts.
Multiple 30 day fruit only fasts.
Which also made it easier to fast for Ramadan (30 days from Fajr to Maghreb/ dawn to dusk) for the last few years.
I’ve also done no food and no fluids for 3 days & 3 nights.

They all have their rewards.

Fasting is a good way to help the body primarily focus on repairing itself rather then digesting new foods.
