Many of us hear, "๐™๐™–๐™ ๐™š ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ข๐™š ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™จ๐™š๐™ก๐™›,"
and immediately think..."๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป?"

Life is busy.
Responsibilities don't disappear.

And when you're already overwhelmed, finding 30 uninterrupted minutes can feel impossible.

The good news is that your nervous system doesn't only respond to big changes.
It also responds to small, repeated moments of safety.

A slow breath.
Relaxing your shoulders.
Feeling your feet on the ground.
Looking out the window for a few seconds.
Taking one conscious pause before responding.

None of these take much time.

But over time, they help teach your nervous system something important:

"๐—œ'๐—บ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ."

That's one of the things we explore in my Nervous System Wellness Workshopsโ€”not adding more to your to-do list, but discovering simple, practical ways to work *with* your nervous system throughout your day.

Because healing doesn't always happen in hour-long sessions.

Sometimes it begins with 10 seconds.

๐Ÿ’š Small moments matter.

When that happens...
I don't keep sitting in it just to prove I'm strong.
I find some shade.

Sometimes I find it under a tree.
Sometimes I find it beside someone I trust.

I don't think that makes me weak.
I think it makes me wise.

Maybe people could do that a little more, too.

When life feels overwhelming, you don't always have to carry it by yourself.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is sit beside someone who helps your nervous system feel a little safer.

The heat won't last forever.
And until it passes...

There's nothing wrong with borrowing a little shade. ๐Ÿ’š

Birds to watch.
A breeze to feel.
New scents around every corner.

I know we'll get home eventually.

But this moment...
This moment only happens once.

Maybe today you don't need to get there any faster.
Maybe today you can enjoy the walk.

Most of us have been taught to fix ourselves.
To push through.
To calm down.
To think differently.
To try harder.

My work takes a different approach.
Instead of beginning with change, we begin with awareness.

Every workshop I teach is grounded in the same four practices:
๐Ÿ‘ Notice what is happening with curiosity rather than judgment.
๐Ÿคฒ Support yourself with compassion before expecting yourself to change.
โค๏ธ Connect with your body, emotions, values, and what matters most.
๐ŸŒฑ Grow one small step at a time through repeated moments of awareness and choice.

These aren't steps to finish.
They're practices to return to throughout life.

Each cycle begins with noticing. As awareness deepens, so do support, connection, and growth.

While every workshop explores a different topicโ€”from emotions and caregiving to stress, freeze, or nervous system educationโ€”they all share the same gentle framework. Some workshops invite us to notice more deeply. Others help us practice support, connection, or growth. Together, they build a different relationship with ourselvesโ€”one grounded in awareness, compassion, and curiosity.

These workshops aren't about fixing yourself.
They're about learning to notice, understand, and work with your nervous system as a friend rather than an enemy.

Because when we approach ourselves with curiosity instead of criticism...
Awareness creates choice.

"Denial isn't just a river in Egypt."

We've all heard the joke.
But what if what we call denial isn't always denial?

What if it's something else?

I think of it as protective blindness.

You know you need more rest.
You know it's time to ask for help.
You know setting a boundary would be healthier.
You know something needs to change...
Yet somehow, you keep testing the water instead of getting in.

It's easy to call that laziness, procrastination, or denial.

But our nervous system has one primary jobโ€”to keep us safe.
And sometimes, "safe" simply means "familiar."

When change feels uncertain, overwhelming, or risky, your nervous system may quietly steer your attention away from what feels difficult. Not because you're incapable of seeing it, but because it's trying to protect you.

That's why part of you can know exactly what needs to happen...
while another part keeps saying,
"Maybe tomorrow."
"It's not that bad."
"I'll deal with it later."

Understanding your nervous system doesn't remove responsibility.
It replaces self-judgment with curiosity.

Because lasting change isn't about forcing yourself harder.
It's about helping your body feel safe enough to move forward.

That's why I teach Nervous System Wellness Workshops.

When we understand *why* we get stuck, we can begin working **with** our nervous system instead of against it.

๐Ÿ’š Awareness creates choice.

Summer storms don't last forever.
Neither do difficult days.

When the sky grows dark, Matilda doesn't try to stop the storm.

She finds a safe place.
Stays close.
And waits for the sun to return.

Sometimes support isn't about fixing what's happening.
It's about helping each other feel steady while it passes.

Who helps you feel steady when life gets stormy?

Sometimes we think we always need to be doing something.

Fixing.
Planning.
Improving.
Pushing forward.

But some of the most meaningful moments happen when we simply notice.

The warmth of the sun on our face.
The sound of the breeze through the trees.
The feeling of our feet on the ground.
The way our breath naturally slows when we stop rushing.

Our nervous system doesn't always need another strategy.

Sometimes it simply needs a moment to recognize...

"I'm here."

Awareness isn't passive.
It's the first step toward responding instead of reacting.

๐Ÿ’š Sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that help us feel most connected.

What did you notice today?

What if your body notices an emotion before your mind has words for it?

Long before we can explain why we're upset, our bodies are often already responding.
A tight chest.
A lump in the throat.
Butterflies.
Heavy shoulders.

These aren't problems to fix.
They're invitations to notice.

When we learn to listen with curiosity instead of immediately trying to make the feeling go away, something remarkable happens.

We discover that emotions were never meant to stay stuck.

Like waves, they're designed to rise, move, and pass when we have enough safety to stay present with them.

Join me for Why Emotions Feel So Hard, part of my Nervous System Wellness Workshop series.
