Since i have been overwhelmed with the love and support of messages , this is the fastest way to respond. Here is a update on Donald Keaton . He is stubborn man that didn't like to go to the doctor . He has been over the counter medicating for a few months now with alot of different symptoms and he would never get better. Tuesday Sept 26th I found him on the bathroom floor. He couldn't walk or talk clearly. He was showing stroke like symptoms. We went to the ER at high point. It was there that the MRI said no stroke and the xray said collapsed lung from fluid and infection around the lung. It was then that we discovered that he has pneumonia and if pneumonia is left untreated it festers up until it eventually explodes. We were transferred on Wed night to Cabarrus hospital cause he needed to be somewhere that had lung specialist (surgeon) on had and Baptist didn't have a bed . It was there that we had a long stay of 8 days of mess that I don't want to relive . Last Saturday we had to do a lung surgery to remove fluid and infection around his chest cavity . Also there was so much scare tissue around his lung that he also had unexplained scar tissue to make his lung expand and work properly. That is when chest tubes that high point put in , were repositioned. After a few times (days ) of trying to get extubated . They only tried 1 time per day. On Wed we were able to get him off the vent to tell him how sick he was and everything going on. I enjoyed my 13hrs of seeing your beautiful eyes and talking to you. Such a relief off of me knowing you could hear me and know that I tried to make you better . Unfortunately after 13 hrs he blew a mucus plug which blocked his airways so they had to temporarily put a ventilator back in. Little did I know he would have severe multiple strokes . The worst one was on his brain stem. They couldn't even give me a definite number of strokes . My heart is absolutely shattered . He was doing so good and then snapped into this mess. He is barely making any body movements and its just a matter of time . I can't beliveve at our age I have to live thru this . He was so strong and was definitely a fighter . I am trying to stay strong for all of our kids but I am so broken without the thought of you. Keep us n your prayers as we see how much time I have left with you , I love you soooo much .
