Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine at Highland park.
This patient spent years working bare-handed in extreme cold conditions. Over time, the chronic cold restriction and lack of circulation caused severe hand tightness, a noticeable extension gap, and developing trigger fingers—making it painful and impossible to lay his hand flat.
Check out this amazing transformation!
🔴 Before: Severe tightness, pain, and a distinct gap between the palm and the table during a tabletop extension test
🟢 After Treatment: The fascia and tight tendons have completely relaxed, allowing the hand to lay flat with near no gap!
While we are still actively working on resolving the lingering mechanical “catching” of his trigger finger, freeing up the deep tissue structure of the hand is a massive win for his daily mobility and comfort.
Traditional Chinese Medicine excels at increasing blood circulation, warming the channels, dispelling stubborn cold stagnation, and restoring natural elasticity to the tissues.

The Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Sunlight shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer, and the northern hemisphere reaches its highest noon solar altitude, with day length at its maximum and night at its minimum. This is the peak of yang energy, yet also a turning point where yin energy begins to emerge.
Welcome the longest day of the year with Bright Bowls, Love That Spice, and Soulshine Boutique & Healing Sanctuary on June 22 at Port Clinton Square. Celebrate the summer solstice with gentle yoga, sound healing, herbal tea, Bright Bowls tastings, flower crowns, crystals, and community.
During the Summer Solstice, most parts of the country experience high temperatures and abundant sunshine. Crops grow vigorously and require ample water. Rainfall at this time has a significant impact on agricultural yields — as the saying goes, “Rain on the Summer Solstice brings heat through the three fu days; no rain then brings drought after autumn.” Field management must be especially meticulous, balancing the crop’s water needs while guarding against heat stress and pests.
The Summer Solstice holds an important place in traditional culture as one of the ancient “Eight Seasonal Festivals.” Since antiquity, there have been rituals offering sacrifices to heaven and earth at this time, giving thanks for nature’s bounty. Though yang energy is at its zenith, one should follow the natural rhythm, tempering exuberance appropriately to prepare for autumn and winter. The Summer Solstice occurs when the sun reaches 90° ecliptic longitude, generally falling between June 21 and 22 on the Gregorian calendar.

Preventing gallbladder stones (gallstones) mostly comes down to managing how efficiently your liver and gallbladder process cholesterol and bile. Most gallstones are made of hardened cholesterol, and they usually form when bile contains too much cholesterol or when the gallbladder doesn’t empty properly.
While genetics play a role, you can significantly reduce your risk by adjusting a few key daily habits. park

Starting today, the medical community is officially moving from the term “PCOS” (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) to Polycystic Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). This shift is much more than just a name change; it represents a major correction in our clinical understanding. For years, the term “PCOS” has misled both patients and physicians to focus heavily on the appearance of “cysts” on the ovaries. The fact is, these are not actual cysts, but underdeveloped follicles. More importantly, we now recognize that the entire syndrome is driven not primarily by reproductive issues, but by a pervasive metabolic dysfunction—specifically, insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. By renaming it PMOS, we are adopting a “metabolic-first” approach. This means our primary diagnostic and treatment focus is on systemic metabolic health rather than just period regulation. This change is vital for helping patients address long-term health risks like Type 2 diabetes , allowing for earlier and more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment that truly targets the root cause. This is a crucial step forward for patient clarity and proactive care. Park
Addressing a Stye with Acupuncture .
Check out this before and after! Upper panel, you can see the typical presentation of a stye (hordeolum): redness, localized swelling, and discomfort caused by an infected oil gland.
Lower panel: taken after just one acupuncture session, the inflammation has visibly calmed, and the skin tone is returning to normal.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, a stye is often seen as “heat” or “stagnation.” Acupuncture moves Qi helps resolve the blockage quickly.

Did you know your ear is a “micro-system” for your entire body? 👂✨
What is Auricular Acupuncture? Auricular (ear) acupuncture is a specialized therapy where specific points on the ear are stimulated to promote healing throughout the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ear is seen as a map of the internal organs and nervous system. By stimulating these points—whether with tiny needles or non-invasive “ear seeds” like the ones in this photo—we can help:
• 🍃 Reduce stress and anxiety
• 💤 Improve sleep quality
• 💆♀️ Manage chronic pain and inflammation
• 🔋 Boost overall energy
