Hi, my name is Jillian Santel. I’m 33 years old and proud to call the small town of Bunker Hill, Illinois home. I’ve been happily married to my amazing husband, Nick, for four years, and together we’ve built a life centered around family, fresh air, and simple joys. Our home is always full of life with three dogs, a cat, chickens, and even pigeons keeping things interesting.

In my free time, you’ll usually find me in the garden, growing and creating—whether it’s homemade salsa, pickled jalapeños, or other delicious foods straight from what I’ve nurtured myself. I love staying active outdoors, whether that’s swimming, riding our SxS, grilling, or just spending quality time with friends and family.

Join us for a hands-on culinary experience where each student will create their very own batch of homemade salsa, then safely preserve it using water bath canning techniques. Throughout the class, participants will learn key skills such as chopping, seasoning, simmering, and the proper steps for canning to ensure shelf-stable, flavorful salsa. By the end of the session, each student will have a collection of freshly canned salsa jars ready to take home or gift.
