Enhancing beauty with ink!

This poor new client 😭

She booked a lip liner and told me when she came in that they were previously done 5 years ago but only lasted for 6 months and she never went back. Her brows and eyeliner also faded. She said it was painful and bled so much during the procedure. She said it continued to bleed up to the next day 😳

She tried to get ahold of the girl to let her know that it was crooked and splotchy and bigger in certain areas (the ink bled and gave a smeared look around her lips). But she never found the girl after trying to call her and see her 😢

So to try and hide it I chose to create the liner and ombré slightly to smudge it a little. Maybe the bold reddish brown would hide the old ink. I NEVER like to drag the outer corners out because it makes women look like the Joker but after making the pout the fricken corners were so visibly awkward!

So after her permission I extended it and stopped before I kept going and made it worse. Sometimes it’s best to do some, let it heal, then continue on in another visit.

I think the 90s brown liner looks fabulous and better than what she had. She was happy and will be back for her brows and eyeliner 🤓✨

Mapping was difficult because the last artist brought her arches too inward and did not frame her face to match the individual.

Know the difference between being licensed versus being certified!

The beauty industry is not as regulated like the medical industry (which is crazy considering you can burn, tear, scar skin, or even have allergic reactions 🤦🏽‍♀️). Licensed healthcare personnel are required to obtain continuing education credits that is approved by govt. to offer valid hours towards renewing your license.

Hawaii doesn’t even have a practical test for Estheticians to see if they know how to do a facial correctly 🤦🏽‍♀️

This came up because someone asked me if I am certified and after I told her I was licensed and certified she wanted to see my certification….🤣🤣🤣

Yes you can see my certificate I guess but it’s more important to know that I am credentialed by the state to offer services because I completed all the educational requirements and passed the state boards to obtain my licenses…plural!

Don’t lash all the way! Lashing all of the outer corner can accentuate down turned eyes and can make eyes look droopy.

I have a habit of lashing till the end if I don’t map 🤣 but can you see where I should’ve stopped?
