Yesterday was a true success! I am beyond grateful to everyone who helped make my 6th Annual Mother’s Day Makeover Event possible. From my amazing clients who so graciously donated gift cards, gifts, and monetary contributions, to Balloons Décor, N More for blessing us with beautiful decorations, to Skillet’s Cafe for donating their amazing food, and Food Savvy for their delicious, succulent crab cakes! The French Bakery for the amazing Black Forest Cherry Cake!! Every single one of you played a part in making this day so special.

Lexy, I want to give you a special thank you for stepping in and partnering with me to help make these ladies feel even more beautiful and loved. Having you there meant the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful that you gave your time to pour into something so near and dear to my heart. I appreciate you more than you know.

And a very special thank you to Tonya for allowing me to bring joy to these women year after year. Tonya, your willingness to open the doors of Hopeful Horizons and welcome me into that space to connect with, serve, and uplift these women means more than words can express. This partnership with Hopeful Horizons has been truly amazing, and I never take it for granted.

This is what real community engagement looks like. This is what real community support looks like. The joy, smiles, and gratitude from the ladies said it all.

None of this could have happened without each and every one of you, and I am deeply thankful for all of your love, support, and generosity. 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL🌸

My heart is so heavy right now. Getting that call , learning that you’ve transitioned broke my heart! You meant so much to me. So much to my kids.
You were someone who believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. You showed me what it felt like to matter.
Because of you, I found my voice. You were my Toastmasters mentor, and because of you, I was no longer afraid to stand up and speak. Because of you, I am writing my memoir. Because of you,I was a speaker at TedX! Because of you, I own my own salon. The courage I didn’t have, you held it for me until I was ready to claim it. You made me believe in myself when I couldn’t do it alone.
Charlie, I’m going to miss you so much. I’m going to miss your singing. I’m going to miss your stories. I’m just going to miss seeing your face.
You took me and my kids in at a time when we had no one, and you loved us like we were your own. That kind of love doesn’t leave a person. It stays.
I will never forget you. I will always love you. And I know you are now my guardian angel ; not gone, just no longer here in the physical. But your energy, your spirit, your love… that will live on forever.
