House of Colour Chattanooga Hixson

I was invited to a weekend away with some not-college (USNA) friends and part of the agenda was a Disco Murder Mystery game. We were given parts and expected to dress the character.

Now, my character was Annie Deluca: cold, brisk and unfriendly. She can handle herself and dresses conservatively compared to those caught up in disco fever preferring pants to dresses.

The 70s is definitely my era. My top and vest were bought from a local vintage retailer The Local Dive Retail

My daughter said that it was funny that my costume looked like something I would have in my closet! In fact everything else I was wearing was straight out of my current wardrobe.

She has a pair of unworn shoes that she loved the style of, but as she is a winter, the summer colors just weren’t cohesive in her closet.

In our continuing series, today’s color is orange 🍊.

🧡. The color of enthusiasm, creativity and warmth, orange is a very popular color in Tennessee and the South for sports teams. 🧡

Oranges inhabit the top half of the color wheel (autumn 🍂 and spring 🌷) so our cool seasons don’t have an orange in their fan.

Winter ❄️: no orange in the palette but if you can’t give it up, look for highlighter orange, the brighter the better! Tennessee fans should opt for the white sweatshirt 😉

Summer ☀️. Coral red is where it is at for you! Not really orange, but gives your looks the vibrancy associated with orange.

Spring 🌷: from peaches and tangerines to terracottas, your oranges are light and bright, like the flesh of an orange.

Autumn 🍂: from vibrant oranges to muted and burnt oranges, think rich and earthy like the outside of a tangerine, satsuma, or dried orange slices.

My favorite lip colors for wearing with orange are L410 Copper and L308 True Terracotta and Springs can add L710 Coral Blush.
