My body feels like it needs a change, so I’m mixing my workouts up this week and doing things a little different. Here’s what I’ve got planned out for the week (swipe through the pics in the post).

Teenage athletes need to build a foundation for developing healthy muscle growth that won’t hinder athletic performance - this involves proper nutrition and proper training.
It’s essential that athletes learn two things when training:
1. Developing the right kind of muscle to enhance athletic performance, not hinder it.
2. Develop proper training form to ensure efficient training and reduce injury risk.
Unfortunately, most high school training programs are not adequately equipped to give athletes the attention necessary when it comes to these essentials, resulting in higher injury risk while training and competing, as well as inefficient training that falls short of potential results. I don’t mean that critically of these training programs at all - it’s simply a reality that trainers readily recognize. As parents and coaches, it’s vital to not allow ego to get in the way of allowing training professionals the opportunity to help your athletes.
I would love to work with your teenage athletes (middle school or high school) to help them in each of these areas. Please message me and let’s talk about getting started.

From a health and nutritional standpoint, carbs are not bad. As a matter of fact, they are necessary. The problem lies with managing your carb intake in relation to your specific goals.
