I have been an herb, vegetable and fruit farmer for over fifteen years. The farm is about an acre and half big but it is mighty. It is a little slice of heaven.

The Naked Botanical sells herbal tea blends, hydrosols, herbal salt blends, elderberry tonic and other herbal products sourced from organically grown herbs from our farm. The Naked Botanical (formerly known as Anna Lee’s Herbs) was started in 2015 since I couldn’t find fresh local dried herbs. The herbs that I was buying just were missing the right color and smell that freshly dried herbs had. I r

ealize that most herbs were being sourced from outside the country which could have been the reason for their pale color. In 2016, I started making herbal tea blends, salts, salves, hydrosols, and flower essences from the farm. I am blessed with over 100+ herb plants, damask roses, fruit trees and several beds of flowers and vegetables. Currently I am selling at local farmer’s markets, craft shows, retail stores, and online. I love the facial expressions people make when they taste my herbal teas for the first time. Or they smell and taste my other products. They smack their lips and always say, “that’s so good.”

It is so good because it is fresh. When you cut herbs to tea bag size, you lose all the aroma of the herbs which in turns affects the tea taste. I only hand cut the herbs to 1/4 inch standards for loose leaf. With loose leaf, you will get a better tasting tea and you can use the herbs many times. However, I do offer pyramid bag tea bags with the same larger cut. I don’t add artificial or natural flavors to the herbs. Most tea companies do even if they are organic. I let my herbs speak for themselves. The herb are naked and just bare awesome. I pack the teas in small batches so the herbs are stored in vacuum sealed bags in a cool location until use. I want you to experience the freshest tea. My salves, flower essences and hydrosols are from ingredients in my farm. I source certified organic Hawaiian beeswax and cocoa butter which makes the salves harden and emolient. On a warm day, I can be found using my cooper distiller to create the most heavenly hydrosols, which is the water part of how they make essential oils. Hydrosols are wonderful for the skin and soul. You haven’t lived until you smelled one of them. Flower essence are non-invasive liquids that help remove emotional blockages. They are quite powerful yet gentle in their strength. Lastly, I create herbal salts from my lovage and anise hyssop and tarragon. They add perkiness to your dish and reduce your salt usage since they add flavor without salt. We are here at the SFA food fest at Javitz in NYC. Thank you Good Food for the award for the elderberry tonic. The elderberry bushes are drinking champagne in celebration! I guess the elderberry might taste different this year.😄

So this mother has been pregnant 70 times. Just kidding. I have made 70 ederberry plants from this mother and daughter along with the grandchildren. I have an elderberry issue.

The farm is totally in control and I am not.

It dictated what products are made and when. What to do with 75 gallons of apple cider, bins bursting with herbs, 128 pounds of ginger and the list goes on.
