We don’t adjust the shield because we’re unsure.
We adjust it because placement controls the result.
In a lash lift, the shield or rod determines:
• the angle of lift
• the direction of the hair
• where tension is created
• how the bonds reform during setting
From a hair-science perspective, once lotion 1 breaks the disulfide bonds, the lash becomes highly malleable. If the shield is too high, too low, or not aligned with the lash line, the lift can look over-curled, uneven, or weak — even with perfect timing.
So take the time. Adjust again.

Thioglycolic Acid works fast and strong, which is why application control becomes so important during processing.
The lash tips are naturally finer, softer, and more porous than the base of the lashes — meaning they process much faster and can easily become overprocessed if fully saturated.
That’s why we usually focus the application through the base to mid-lengths or around 3/4 of the lash ✨
Giving enough restructuring where the lashes need it most, while helping protect the delicate ends from frizzing or over curling.
