Disclaimer: if I recommended any of these products and you love them, then by all means keep using them!

For me personally, halfway through 2022 I began a process of minimizing my products. What started at a necessity (my bathroom physically could not contain another product) evolved into a routine that has brought me so much calm. (Too much of anything gives me anxiety.)

Minimizing included: giving away products to friends and family who would use it more than me, and enforcing a strict purchase filter for new products.

Another habit I reinforced was a but these 4 products I’ve decided not to finish.

Here’s why:

1. CeraVe’s Resurfacing Retinol has straight up alcohol 2/3 of the way down the ingredient label. I’m not sure how I missed that! But alcohol in its isopropyl or ethanol forms are an absolute no for me.

2. Drunk Elephant Mineral SPF 30 - while this is a great product in ingredients, I just noticed it patching on my face creating an inconsistent look to my makeup. The white cast got stronger as I used the product more and more.

3. Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter - this one never worked for me and I’ve finally decided to admit defeat. It must be a chemistry thing where it just will not smooth out on my skin. No matter how I apply, layer, or set it always looks patchy. I wanted to love it so badly!

4. Elina Organics Sea Buckthorn Healing Lotion - this was intended to be used as a daytime facial moisturizer, but the texture is too clumpy and chunky to work on my skin. Even if I was able to smooth it out, as soon as it dries down I cannot apply makeup or it pills up horrendously. Like tiny green chunks, not cute. For the body, use this! Not for the face imo.

What products have you broken up with recently?

How can you see the best results for your skin care efforts?

1️⃣ Be intentional and keep it simple

2️⃣ Cleanse thoroughly and gently

3️⃣ Learn to identify how your skin barrier feels - no matter your skin type, you need hydration and protection

4️⃣ Glycolic acid once a week can do what no physical scrub can - exfoliate wisely!

5️⃣ Protect and repair! Daytime: SPF, nighttime: cleanse and nourish

Contrary to my photo evidence, I
still do a LOT of hair and I love it.

Here is a tiny before and after with this client’s
beautiful words. I seriously love hearing how much you
enjoy your hair, skin, and makeup based on learning
from me. I don’t push products or hinge your
happiness on buying something. Most of the time
techniques alone do the trick.

Not sure if your techniques are on point? Come see
me. Book an appointment now (only one left in all of
December!)

From “nay sayer” to believer, Seint is as beautiful as they claim.

I’m guilty of rolling my eyes to the sponsored posts of women dotting their faces and promoting this makeup.

But then someone close to me, in real life, was wearing it and her skin looked flawless. Fast forward 11 months, and I was *finally* ready to try it for myself.

It is completely different than anything I’ve found at Ulta, Sephora, or the drugstore.

So I’m learning again, not to judge a book by its cover.
