I discontinued our Calendula Multipurpose Salve from retail some time ago, but I never stopped making it for my wholesale customers. And every so often, someone would ask for it.

Eventually I started wondering… why isn’t this available to my retail customers anymore?

So, she’s back - just a little differently. ✨

Our Calendula Multipurpose Salve is returning in a new 1.25 oz glass jar - a simple, everyday salve for keeping dry, rough skin feeling soft, moisturized, and cared for.

One size. Simple. Multipurpose. And apparently, not quite ready to leave R. Drew Naturals. 🤎

Not every day behind a skincare brand is glamorous - but there’s something satisfying about seeing all the little pieces come together.

The 9–5 may be done for the day, but my second shift is just getting started.

Looking back at this “On This Day” reminded me just how many ordinary evenings have gone into building R. Drew Naturals. No big moment—just consistency, over and over again. 🤎

I stopped doing the melt, cool, whip & pipe method a long time ago. 👀

Not because it doesn’t work - it absolutely does. I was introduced to a different method that gave me the smooth, creamy texture I wanted without all the waiting.

The method I prefer? Melt the hard butter, pour it over the soft butter, add the oils in stages, blend until silky smooth, then pour.

About 40 minutes from start to finish. 🙌🏾

One thing formulating has taught me: more steps don’t always mean a better result. Sometimes it’s about understanding your ingredients and choosing the process that gives you the result you’re looking for.

Less, done well. 🤎

Buying in bulk makes sense for my business - but working directly from a 5-gallon bucket every time I formulate? Not so much. 😂

So I transfer my raw ingredients into smaller, production-friendly containers. And yes…there’s a reason I roll the bucket. 👀 It helps move the ingredient toward the opening so gravity can do the work while I control the flow.

Nothing fancy - just one of those little systems I’ve learned that makes production easier and more efficient.
