Just a few things I wish someone would have told me when I first got into the Beauty Industry.

✨ Narrow down just what you like about esthetics. This industry is expected to reach close to $736 Billion in global revenue by 2028.

✨ Each state has different licensing requirements and modality restrictions so find out what services you can LEGALLY offer and which board you’ll report too. (ie Board of Health or Board of Cosmetology)

✨ Even if you plan on working for someone, start your own LLC. Contact your Secretary of State and get an EIN number from the IRS (it’s Free). And never put your home address on any of your Business Documents (including your license) because it can be accessed online.

✨ Find Likeminded individuals with your same passions. Being in connection with other professional beauty leaders can unlock a limitless amount of knowledge of what this business is really like. From retail sales, to manufacturing, to day to day interactions with clients, the insights will be priceless.

✨ Take your time and never measure your success based on someone else’s social media “highlight reel.” Nobody shows the days with no clients or the years it can possibly take to get out of the “black.” Stay focused on your own path.
