Without a doubt, my favorite part of my job is seeing young guys go from zero to hero. Starting with nothing, no skills, no knowledge, just hunger. Then working their way up with integrity and thoroughness to prove to me and themselves that they deserve to be manager or even (in this case) owner!

Praise the Lord for his mercy and grace and provision for me and the guys I get to work with.

Exciting news! Due to the overwhelming support and demand for quality haircuts, both our Huntsville and Madison shops are expanding! // will be joining us Downtown Huntsville, and will be starting in Madison // These are experienced barbers with many many years of traditional and modern barbering under their belts. We are very thankful they chose to join the Greasy Hands crew // their schedules are open, so book them up!!

Florence Shop Update:

We have some bittersweet news to share. Our dear friend and cherished barber, Max Moothart, is no longer with us at Greasy Hands Barber Shop.

As of December 31st, Max and his family embarked on a new adventure to live in Europe. While we are incredibly sad to see him go, we are excited for this new chapter in his life.

Max joined our team nearly four years ago, moving from Seattle, WA, to Florence. A Navy Veteran, Max brought with him not only an outstanding work ethic but also an infectious “every day is a good day” attitude. His time at Greasy Hands was marked by exceptional service and genuine camaraderie with both clients and staff.

Austin and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Max for the years he spent with us. He didn’t just cut hair; he enriched our lives and our shop with his friendship and positivity.

We wish Max and his family all the best in Europe. We’ll miss you, Max, but we’re thrilled for all the adventures that await you.

BIG congrats to Lindsay, as today he levels up to Senior Barber at our Huntsville shop! Lindsay is an absolute staple for us; he won our “You’re a Star” award last year, and his clients can always count on him!

His service prices will increase slightly, starting Nov 1. Any clients who prefer to stay at the same price can feel free to book with Ryle or Nate, no worries!

🎉TEN YEARS🎉- How can I even sum it up? Ten years ago today, I opened the first Greasy Hands, booked 2 weeks out, and I’ve been fully booked ever since. What an absolutely incredible and nearly unbelievable blessing that has been for me & my family. To build a life by servicing the public, forming relationships, and being consistent. Wow.

Today, I’m grateful for every barber who has worked for us (nearing 40 now) and every client who has walked through our doors (nearing 10,000). We at Greasy Hands are not perfect by any means. But we strive every day for excellence. Most days, we get there.

I’m forever indebted to my business partners for believing in me, believing in the brand, and putting their money where their mouth is.

And lastly, I do not do this on my own. I’m weak. I’m fearful. I’m hesitant, and sometimes don’t think things through all the way. But God is bigger than my fears. He has a plan for me & my business, to be used for His glory, and to spread His love & message through service & conversation. Praise His name for bringing us this far, and I’m excited to see where He takes us from here!

Greasy Hands has always sought to recruit and keep talent. We’ve been incredibly blessed to have some of the most talented and hard-working barbers in all of Alabama. As our tenured barbers grow in their service of clients and fellow barbers, improve their skills, and book further out, we want to reward those achievements.

At our downtown Huntsville shop, starting March 1st, 2024, our two longest-tenured and busiest barbers (Jacob and Jon) will be getting a very well-deserved raise. Their prices will increase slightly, and you’ll see that reflection on our booking site. I cannot say enough good things about how these two men carry GH in the HSV-area.

Lindsay, Ryle and Nate will continue at the current prices for now, with the same opportunity ahead of them.
