November is Healthy Skin Month!
Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices can help delay natural aging and prevent various skin problems. I can help with the good skincare part! Here are 5 tips for having healthy skin:
1. Protect yourself from the sun: use sunscreen, seek shade, or cover up.
2. Don’t smoke. Among other things smoking does to your skin, it also damages collagen and elastin — the fibers that give your skin strength and elasticity.
3. Treat your skin gently: use warm (not hot) water, use mild cleansers, pat (don’t rub) dry, and moisturize.
4. Eat a healthy diet of fruits, veggies, whole grains, & lean proteins & drink lots of water.
5. Manage stress: get enough sleep, set limits, make time to do things you enjoy.
