So we had an accident this morning. 5:35am to be exact. Woken by ‘mama, there’s shishi in the bed’ 😩. It’s been a long time since we had accidents in the bed, but it happens right? And wait, when the heck did he get in our bed?! (That’s another conversation). Here’s what I do - after I soak up what I can with the soiled bed sheet that I’m gonna wash, I mix baking soda with a few drops 💧 of lemon oil and spread all over the top. I vacuumed it up and did another round and added Purify along with Lemon 🍋 for another hour or two. After vacuuming it up, I put a fan straight on it and voila - dry and the smell is all gone! Tell me - what do you do in this situation, mamas?

This Rescuer blend from the kids collection, along with Tamer and Stronger are the most used by my little man. I keep it on our nightstand for easy access in the middle of the night - usually when it’s needed. I’m so grateful I have found something that’s safe and smells good to help this growing boy.

After a busy day of activity, apply Rescuer soothing blend for a relaxing sensation and to reduce feelings of tension for growing, tired legs. Apply to temples and back of the neck to reduce feelings of tension. Massage into shoulders, neck, and back for a comforting and soothing experience.

We have just spent some time focusing on the kitchen and its appliances, but now let’s move on to another room in the house that needs a lot of special time and attention when it comes to cleaning - the bathroom! It is personally my least favorite space in the house to clean but hopefully, these swaps make it a little more tolerable!

Soft Scrub Cleanser:

¾ rounded cup of baking soda
¼ cup unscented castile soap
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp vinegar
5-10 drops Lemon oil

✅ Directions:

1. Combine baking soda and castile soap in a bowl
2. Add water and stir
3. Add vinegar and essential oil. The consistency should be a soft paste.
4. Store in an airtight container (this is enough for 2-4 applications)

Use this recipe to remove soap scum and stains as well as to brighten your tub, tile, and toilet! To use, apply and let sit for 5-10 minutes and then scrub. After scrubbing, take a wet cloth and wipe clean. Boom! The shower looks good as new!

Microwaves are a hot spot (see what I did there?) for caked-on food and mystery stains.

👉 Biggest impact...get rid of the microwave! (it's a massive EMF emitter!) but for those who don’t want to toss it, let me teach you how to keep it clean!

Grab some:
1 cup white vinegar
2 cups hot water
15 drops Lemon oil (or any citrus)

✅ Directions:

1. Combine the ingredients in a glass spray bottle
2. Spray mixture inside the microwave, let sit and wipe clean using a damp cloth!

Seems simple enough! Are you cleaning your microwave today?

Does your garbage disposal need a little attention? It is a great place for odors to hang out for sure. 👀 Let’s talk about a recipe to help freshen, clean and deodorize our garbage disposals.

What you need:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup salt
½ cup water
⅓ cup unscented castile soap
30 drops Lemon oil

✅ Directions:

1. Combine baking soda and salt in a bowl
2. Add castile soap and essential oil into the mixture
3. Add water, 1 tbsp at a time, while stirring until it becomes the consistency of “damp sand.” (It should stay together when pressed - if you add too much water just add more baking soda)
4. Scoop a tbsp of mixture onto parchment paper and let dry for 24 hours or until hardened.
5. Store in a glass jar. Place 1-3 refreshers into the garbage disposal and turn on as needed for freshness!

These you will only have to make once every few months, and they make such a big impact on keeping your sink smelling fresh and clean!

Generic Liquid dish soap is another one with a high score on the Think Dirty app. 😩 We all use it though, so it might be nice to just make our own!

2 cups unscented castile soap
20 drops Lime oil
8 drops Lemon oil
6 drops Citrus Bliss

✅ Directions:

Fill a large, clean bottle with castile soap and essential oils
To use, shake and add 1-2 tbsp to dishwater or a small amount to a natural sponge

So simple, yet again, MASSIVE impact!

Once you start to swap out these super expensive grocery store products with an easy DIY one, you will be shocked at why it took you so long to jump on board!

Unfortunately, commercial dish detergent is loaded with awful chemicals that coat everything you eat off of. So here is an alternative that you can make right at home and have comfort knowing you aren’t washing your dishes in harmful chemicals!

1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1 tbsp On Guard Cleaner Concentrate
5 drops Grapefruit essential oil (or any citrus)

✅ Directions:

1. Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix together until the mixture is an even consistency.
2. Place in silicone molds and let sit for 4 hours.
3. Remove tabs and store them in an airtight container. Use in place of store-bought tablets!

This is a MAJOR impact DIY and a MAJOR money saver!

Are these types of non-toxic swaps important to you?
