What does 💖 self-love mean to you? The past two weeks have been a dream and a gift unfortunately I had to hit bottom to realize what self-love is and that I come first…
…no my work, no my house, not even my family. I come first! I had to learn that I couldn’t take care of my job, my home or my family if I didn’t take of myself first.
I spent my life putting my needs last and as life goes on I kept running on empty everyday until I snap. I exploded with anger and imploded with sadness that was my bottom.
It took a whole team of experts to get me out of my bottom and I learn about self-love. The past two weeks I have been exploring self-love and what that actually meant for me. What is self-love? Sure I heard it before but I actually didn’t know what it truly meant.
For me self-love became prioritizing me and my needs - sounds selfish I thought? 🤔 It is the opposite because by prioritizing your needs, I will show up as the best version of myself for my family, friends, job, and for you - YES I want to show up as my best self for you 💕
How I have been practicing self-love:
❤️🔥 Cleaning and decluttering one drawer and closet at a time. Organizing and cleaning is therapeutic and it feels like hitting the reset button
❤️🔥 Journaling my thoughts: it helps to organize your ideas and see what’s rational and irrational - spoiler alert most of our thoughts are irrational in a depressed brain.
❤️🔥 Listening to music while I make my bed - making my bed makes me feel accomplished and productive, it sets my day.
❤️🔥 Waking everyday no matter what I walk my dogs everyday. I take an intentional walk and I focus on taking in all the details of nature.

Where have I been in the past two months? 🥀 sharing my journey🌹to help others ✨
This photo was taken in NYC at The Edge. This picture really describes what the past two months have felt like: being on glass at the top of a skyscraper.
I have been working on myself to get to a better place mentally and physically. It has been tough, everything has changed since the pandemic which means adapting to a new normal. On top of that my husband has been traveling for months often and my daughter works and goes to school full time. I am alone most of the time. I found myself not changing clothes and living in my pjs and forgetting about makeup. There were days I barely brushed my teeth and combed my hair. The only reason I would get up was to jump on a 8:30am call I had with my team on my day job.
I lived anxious or depressed and in pain with migraines that would make me so sick and lasted for days! I was drinking more alcohol than the typical glass here and there. My brain was in a fog and I couldn’t focus and finish any tasks so I procrastinated and let parts of my home collect dirt and clutter. I felt defeated and overwhelmed fighting with myself all while being quiet.
So, if you know somebody who you haven't heard from in a while, please, go text them right now! I know for me I didn’t want to reach out because I felt shame and at that time I didn’t have the courage.
💫 The good news is that I am in a better place today but it hasn’t been easy. It has taken a massive amount of courage to be vulnerable and open. I have recreated myself, my daily morning and evening routines.
💕 Let me know if you would like me to share more about this routines and rituals I created for myself. 💕

🔥Tip to finding the right shade of foundation. When it comes to foundation, finding the right shade has been a struggle 🙋🏻♀️
clean full coverage foundation HUGE sale on their and their website. Link in Bio!
Tip ✨ find your under tone: neutral, warm or cool. Think of warm as yellow like the sun, look at your jaw line to detect whether you see yellow and how much of it. You might see pink that’s a cool tone. Olive is also a cool tone. Peach is a warmer tone. Why do you need to know this? Because that’s how foundations get classified W for warm, C for cool and N for neutral. The number after the letter determines how light or dark it is
Do you have any tips and sticks when you are looking for your foundation?

🌿National clean beauty day was yesterday but we’re still celebrating a couple of favorite clean makeup brands:
: using Glow Getter foundation in and the All inclusive mascara. This New Hampshire based cosmetic company is changing the world of cosmetics with their approach of promoting optimal health while creating bad ass makeup products. This foundation is my daily go-to!
Ilia liquid eyeliner I wanted an eyeliner that was gentle on my eyes since I wear contacts
The One eyeshadow palette. Their palettes have a great color payoff and the colors blend really well.
I am curious what do you prefer? What is your favorite organic or clean makeup brand?

Skincare Tip: Summer for oily skins can mean grease and breakouts well not anymore! 💥
I had to share this product with you because it has helped me keep my skin under control during the hot summer days.
Use it year long but this is the first time using them during the summer and I have experience less breakouts and my makeup glides on now as my skin texture has also improved. Mainly because of themix of ingredients:
⚡️2% salicylic acid declogs pores and brightens
⚡️Glycolic acid (AHA’s) exfoliant that works by loosening the bond between cells, helps with texture
⚡️Mechanical exfoliant: the pad has this non-abrasive texture that also helps remove dead cells
They are pretty potent so you have to start slow: once per week, twice per week and so on until you work your way up. I use them every other day.
I worked with to customize my skincare routine to my skin needs using medical grade skincare and my skin has been the best it has ever looked 👏🏻🙌🏻💜 thank you Shelly and her team 💜

☀️Step into the sunshine safely 👉🏼slide to see what you need to know about sunscreens keep reading to find out why it is so important 👇🏼
Sunscreen is so important when it comes to protecting your skin from aging and skin cancer.
My grandmother recently had to have a part of her skin on her arm removed. It was a simple procedure and she is safe and healthy today. She grew up in a very warm rural part of Madeira, a Portuguese Island. She was telling me how she never wore sunscreen and had to walk for miles to her work in the heat of the sun.
It was never that great about sunscreen myself until I got older. I have also heard so many different conflicting articles about sunscreen
EWG (Environmental Working Group) has done an excellent job explaining what to avoid and what to look for on a sunscreen. I have taking their sunscreen guide and summarized it. Slide to see their recommendations. Here are a couple of sunscreen they recommend:
Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen

I have put together a guide to take the guest work out and give you reaffirmation on products you might have heard about but not sure if they are worth the hype..
Well I have included some of those hottest products that I do feel are incredible and absolutely love! I have taken into consideration skin types and tried to recommend products that I use on my kit that cover a wide range of skin types. You will notice I didn’t include a setting spray or primer and that is because I don’t really love ANY of the ones in Sephora at the moment but ordered Charlotte Tilbury’s spray to try so we’ll see if that changes...
What are you most excited to try?

What’s in your Makeup Bag? How long have you had those products? Let’s go through them and see what we should keep and throw away.
Just like going through your closet and cleaning out clothes and refreshing your wardrobe, your makeup bag also needs some needed spring clean up.
How often you should replace your makeup:
💄Mascara every 6 months
💄Liquid eyeliners 6-8 months
💄Foundations, concealers anything cream around 12 months
💄Beauty Blender - depending on use and how well you clean them - 3 to 6 months
💄Lipsticks around 12 month
💄Some glosses are good for 1-2 years
I keep my eyeshadow palettes for a couple of years until they become collectibles lol (yup I keep limited edition collections and random palettes I love)
Once you break the seal and open a makeup product that is when it starts to age and ingredients start to break down. If you use a makeup product that is too old, it can cause bad skin reactions and it is not healthy.
Save post for reference! What’s in your makeup bag? What are you replacing?
Products used:
Lilac and Mint palette
eaze drop foundation
mint eyeliner
mascara
brow freeze
precision brow
gloss
balm contour
ultra creamy shape tape
powder

“Be yourself” they said. But what is that really mean and why it can really difficult to let others see who inside of who we really are
I have been doing exploration on this topic in my career and as I am creating content for you. Accepting yourself as you are with all your imperfections can be scary. There is a fear of what other might think of you.
A big part of accepting yourself as you are and being authentic is letting go of that fear that is stopping you. It might take some time and a few exercises. Easier said than done but acknowledging your fears and understanding why can help you unpack them.
I did a bit of research and Psychology Today defines: “Being authentic means that you act in ways that show your true self and how you feel. Rather than showing people only a particular side of yourself, you express your whole self genuinely. That means to succeed in being authentic, you first have to know who your true self actually is.”
Save this post to remind you to celebrate who you are and your essence and be open to what makes us unique and beautiful!

✨3 Tips to make your makeup look more natural ✨
Happy Monday! You can wear a full face of makeup and still look natural.
There are 3 main things you have to keep in mind:
👉🏼Always use a setting spray. Setting sprays can make your makeup more hydrated and melt the makeup on your face. If you are not use one, give a try! My go-to is Continuos Setting spray by or for a clean makeup option.
👉🏼Don’t over powder. Just use a little powder under your eyes to set your concealer. Apply it with a makeup sponge or a powder puff
👉🏼Pick colors closer to your skin tone. Use bronzer as your eyeshadow or as a transition eyeshadow. Use cocoa tones on the outer corner of the eye to enhance your eye shape.
