The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office stands in support of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, and extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, fellow officers, and all who are grieving this tremendous loss of Correction Officer Justin Brown.

Officer Brown tragically lost his life on April 13, 2026, following a motorcycle accident while on his way to work, answering the same call he carried out each day with dedication and professionalism.

He served with quiet strength, integrity, and unwavering commitment. To those who worked alongside him, he was more than an officer, he was a trusted partner and a steady reliable presence inside the walls.

Beyond the uniform, he was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His love and dedication to them were evident in all that he did.

His loss is felt far beyond Fishkill Correctional Facility, impacting the entire corrections and law enforcement community.

Rest easy, Officer Brown.
