Merry Christmas!

With the deepest appreciation, I want to thank each and every one of you who sent Christmas cards, homemade treats, handmade quilts, cakes, pies, extra Christmas tips, gift cards, personalized items, jewelry, and so much more. Your generosity has truly touched my heart.

In addition, thank you to everyone who donated to the homeless shelter. Today I have now delivered four carloads of donations to Street Exit. To say I am overwhelmed with gratitude is an understatement.

My prayer for all my clients, friends, and family is that the coming year is filled with love, peace, and countless blessings. It is truly my pleasure to have you as my clients—whom I consider dear friends and family.

Love to you all ❤️

I wanted to share with everyone who has joined me on this journey of helping the less fortunate. I recently had the opportunity to meet with the director and tour the new facility that will soon house many people—primarily women, senior’s and individuals with disabilities. The shelter’s land will also provide space for tents, along with a dog shelter that will be both heated and cooled.

While speaking with the director, he shared that the goal of “Street Exit” is exactly that: to educate and help people transition off the streets. During my visit, I witnessed a local small group sharing homemade sandwiches and sides, offering smiles and many hugs. I also saw volunteers giving their time and skills to help bring this project to life.

Understandably, the City of Gainesville has removed the tent city, and the creek where many had been bathing will be cleaned up. As a result, some individuals will relocate elsewhere to find shelter. However, for some very fortunate ones, this new facility will provide an opportunity to learn new skills, receive education, and access services they previously did not know how to apply for.

What I have witnessed over the years is that not everyone experiencing homelessness is lazy or a drug addict. Yes, some struggle with addiction—there’s no argument there—but I have also seen broken hearts, raw and unfiltered fear, and deep desperation. The truth is, there is no easy answer, and there will never be enough volunteers to help everyone. However, for those who are willing to give without hesitation—especially when I ask for donations of food, clothing, and personal care items—you all have come through time and time again.

Jesus said, “Be my hands and feet. Feed those who are hungry and clothe them, for in doing so, you have done it unto me.”

I will continue to help as much as I can and will keep you all updated on the progress.

I’ll finish with this: take a look at the picture with the TV in the background. Before they prayed over their lunch, the director pointed to the TV showing a Hallmark Christmas scene and said, “This is what the volunteers want for you next year—to have your own home, a Christmas tree, and to remember to bless those who won’t.”

Thank you again for all your support. Truly, I have seen the difference each of you has made.

I often drop off clothes and food at Good News at Noon, but tonight was one of the saddest. People stood outside wrapped in coats and blankets while volunteers and area churches prepared food just inside the doors.
What broke my heart most was a young woman yelling in panic because she couldn’t stay; her dogs were about to get hit by cars. She had three stray dogs she was trying so hard to care for, but only one leash. With no light to guide her, she walked back into the woods hungry, sad, angry, and overwhelmed. You could feel her despair.
There’s no quick fix for situations like this, no easy solutions. So instead of doing a coat drive this year, I’d like to put together a needs list for anyone who wants to help.
Items needed:
• New or gently used dog collars and leashes (all sizes)
• Small bags of dog food
• Tarps and ties for temporary shelter
• Flashlights and batteries
